I use this in my gun safe to keep all metal from rusting. When combined with a desiccant, works great. Never had an issue with rust.

I put these rust inhibitors in every safe to reduce the potential for rust. Although I live in a dry environment, it’s nice to have the extra protection. There is a spot on the capsule so you can record the date they are first installed. The usual lifespan is about one year of use.

just used them. Seemed to be in good condition. I hope trhe work.

There are better devices. This is a chemical vapor that is undisclosed in regards to content and safety. I recommend the devices that contain silicone beads that can be re- desiccated by plugging in. Keeps my safe at 30% humidity which you don’t want any lower or you could damage certain items like documents due to low humidity

Hopefully a good product, found better elsewhere

Zerust is an antirust atomizer that when used in a tightly closed confined space seems to totally eliminate rust. I have had a problem with tools and metal parts rusting in storage. This is an expensive problem, and I decided I was fed up with the destruction of tools, knives and parts I wasn’t even using, so I waged an all out battle to stop the rust. First, clean the tools, parts, etc. Then, buy a silica pak that is also available on Amazon to soak up moisture. Then find an airtight box. Saturate a rag with corrosion block (trade name) and put it in the bottom of the box. Then put in the tools. The put a slica pack on top, and next to it a Zerust Vapor Capsule. Your rust worries should be over for at least two years. When you open the box, resaturate the rag on the bottom, and replace the silica if the indicators so that have become ineffective. Finally, replace the zerust about every two years. Things will probably last indefinitely without rust or corrosion if you follow these steps.

Their hard to find at a good price but they seem to work great. No rust on the tool drawers I’ve used them in.

As an aircraft mechanic that works outside in the elements, I use these in my tool box, and have seen a significant decrease in rust formation on my tools. I will be using these from now on.
