2008 bmw x5 transfer case actuator for 4×4 light on dash.
Use scanner tool to verify that it’s a transfer case malfunction first.
If your vehicle is right around 100k, then chances are it’s just the actuator gear. These get cross threaded internally and will strip out and no longer work properly.
Hardest part is getting access to part, but once out, this gear is easy to replace and easily repair your 4×4 for thousands less than what a garage will charge.
