I bought a salvage title truck with high miles. It runs well but had a lot of chatter due to clogged oil passages. Running a Wix oil filter larger than Factory capacity allows you to run almost one extra quart, stabilizes your oil pressure, and gives you much more filtration surface. Now, the longer I run the motor, it’s getting quieter and quieter as this massive filter and the extra oil are washing out the gunk from all of the internals. Running one of these filters is a much smarter decision than trying to use a bunch of oil additives that could actually slow down the flow of oil even more. I mean it’s a Wix oil filter, what more is there to say?

This Wix filter came at a great price. Much cheaper than going to the parts store. Same product.

Wix standard oil filters are about the best ones made. Their racing filters are made extra durable to handle higher pressures, but filter at less levels to allow the oil to pass through and maintain high pressure levels for racing. Do your research and choose the tallest WIX filter that fits in your application for the best, longest lasting filter. But if you can afford a K&N filter and you really care about your engine, get it.

I have bought this filter, from this supplier for literally years. I have 260,000 miles on my engine with zero engine work, so something is going right.
The company sends the filters in a shipping bag, not a box, so I’m always on edge if the filter has gotten damaged. So far, that has not been a problem.
This filter is supposed to have a “drainback” value. These last few years, when I take the filter off my vehicle, I can’t ever remember the filter having oil in it. (As in the drainback value doesn’t work.) So at this point I’m kind of wondering if I’m buying a knockoff product or not.
2/2025 – Ready to reorder and now see the price is up around 50%. Time to by locally.

Larger capacity filter for Celica-GT. The stock filter is puny. This is nice upgrade that will provide better filtering.

If I care about the vehicle, I use Wix filters. Perfect fit by a proven company. The price difference between this and a Fram filter isn’t very noticeable. Buy Wix, quality oil and keep that engine alive!
