These are equivalent to the Mann or Baldwin filters made for base model Mini Coopers. That is to say the best available in quality and filtration level. The only filter with higher level filtration is the K&N unit which costs several multiples in dollars. Still, for turbos and Minis driven like they are stolen, the K&N at any price is worth it. Call the dealer or any competent garage and ask what a Mini Cooper engine replacement engine costs.

It’s a good filter, fine quality and fits correctly.
The O-ring fits the cover and seals nicely. (Don’t over-tighten the cover, or you’ll risk cracking the housing!)
The washer is the wrong material to replace a copper crush washer as an oil drain plug gasket. I’ll join the chorus of reviewers here: Don’t use the washer included in the box.
A copper crush washer is designed to deform under pressure. It must flow into the irregularities on the mating surfaces of both the flange head of the oil drain plug bolt, and the face of the oil pan around the drain hole. Copper is a soft enough material to deform slightly when the bolt squeezes, and seal the plug to the pan.
The washer included in [https://amazon.com/dp/B002PMOPOS/] is some copper alloy – brass or bronze – that is less ductile than unalloyed copper. That means it won’t crush (Don’t over-torque it! You’ll rip the threads out of the oil pan), and it won’t seal the gap, and the oil will slowly leak out of your engine.
It won’t run out of your engine fast enough to leave a spray on the windshields of following traffic, and it won’t run out fast enough to leave your engine suddenly with insufficient oil pressure, overheated bearings, and very expensive seizure. No, it won’t be so dramatic: it will leak only a few drops while it’s parked.
But the whole purpose of oil is to flow everywhere it can reach. Those few drops will expand on your garage floor to a giant puddle. That spread will make it harder to diagnose where the puddle started. You’ll wonder whether you cracked the filter housing, or some other more dramatic mistake.
When the car is away and the puddle is exposed, the dogs will walk through it. They’ll track oil into the house. They’ll leave oily paw prints everywhere – on the tile floor, on the wood floor, on the fancy rugs in the front room that’s reserved for guests but the dogs sneak into anyway because they like to sleep on the soft pillows, and on the carpeting everywhere else.
Don’t use the included alloy washer. Throw it away, recycle it, use it for something else, just don’t use it on your car’s oil drain plug bolt. Instead, use a copper crush washer like [https://amazon.com/dp/B07DMWWX37/] or a gasket like [https://amazon.com/dp/B08B9PR7S4/].

The best thing about these WIX filters is you can make a use decision based on test data! WIX backs up their claim for performance by publishing test data on retention based on ISO filtration standard tests. The results appear to be very good. I can’t compare as they are the only ones I have found and I have looked at all the major manufacturers information. I am not an expert on engine internal clearances, but based on what I know, the size retention and efficiency appears to be very good. These may or may not be the best filters available, but you have no way of really knowing without the test data which all the manufacturers actually have, but don’t want to publish for marketing reasons. Oh, I found the WIX data for this on Rock Auto.
