Although I don’t test oil filters, Wix brand is known to be one of the best. Their downfall is they are also made in Mexico and other countries, and when I compare the USA made with the others, the USA made filter does appear to be better made/engineered. I’ve use Wix most of my life and have never experienced any issues.

There are hands down the best filters money can buy, don’t waste your money on top shelf synthetic and a Fram filter. The filter is as important as the oil so do yourself a favour and invest in Wix filters, save yourself costly repairs down the road.

I once owned an automotive parts store and of course I sold oil filters. We carried a variety of options at different price points. I had a filter rep (large well known name brand that I did not sell) come in one day pitching his products & offered to show me the difference between his product & any other brand that was of my choosing. Explaining how his product was the best. He brought in a device that would cut open the oil filter so it could be disassembled, therefore being able to see how it was constructed. He showed how his was built & explained how this made his product the best. Items he pointed out were the filter media itself & how it works to remove contaminants from the oil. Then the retention device the keeps the interior filter material in place.
Then he asked me if I would like to dissect any of the brands I had available for sale to make comparisons, and I did. Obviously the lowest price point products were inferior, and that was to be expected. He even brought in some other competitors products to show for comparison. It was an eye opening experience to see how wide spread the options were. You would not believe what some brands use to filter the oil. From pleated media of different thicknesses and density,, to cotton ball type media (some with the seed/stem still attached), to something that resembled a persons sock stretched over a tube. And I do have to admit I was surprised & that his product was better than many we tested and arguably equal to some. But then the surprise came when I had him cut open a Wix oil filter (both regular and premium options). Even he admitted that they were superior in their construction and in the ability to filter out unwanted contaminants. He had not previously compared a Wix brand to his and stated how surprised he was.
It was at this point that I started using Wix filters exclusively on all my personal vehicles and will not change until someone can show me something better. And I have had several vehicles that I have racked up over 300,000 miles without a single issue. I also need to point out that Wix supplies other branded companies with their filters, such as Mopar & Napa Gold. And there may be others that I am not aware of.

Perfect fit,years ago I bought a fram oil filter from advance auto,which came apart and destroyed my engine on my Toyota truck,now this was over 30 years ago,but I’ve never used another fram filter of any kind,so you get what you pay for,never had any problems with wiz filters
