I don’t do many reviews, but this needs to be noted. I am generally a Wix fan. Right out of the box this appears to be a really nice filter – and I’m sure it is. But …… getting this thing into a 2017 Camry filter housing is near impossible. The soft, thick, rubber surround hangs up and won’t let the upper part of the housing slide into place. I spent 45 minutes cussing and fussing with what should have been a 10 minute job, and finally gave up. The only way I could see making this fit would be to pull the entire intake hose assembly off the throttle body to get working room – and I don’t know that it would fit even then.

Guys, first of all I will have to confess I was extremely skeptical while buying this filter because sooo many of the Amazon reviewers said it didn’t fit their Camry. I have Camry LE 2017, and 2 reviewers with the exact same model, gave 1 star and said it doesn’t fit. But I checked wixfilters.com (the official website for Wix filters) and it said that this filter, 49223, fits Camry. Same was said by Amazon and Walmart website also. So, thanks to Amazon’s 30-day return policy, I convinced myself “let’s trust wixfilters.com and give this filter a try. If it doesn’t fit, we’ll make sure to return it before 30 days.”
And I’M GLAD I TOOK A CHANCE!!
Yes, you will need to apply some extra effort to push this filter’s sides inside the compartment . I’m pretty sure this extra effort was what made other reviewers give up and say that it doesn’t fit. But they are wrong! I just requested my friend to help me and, together, we were able to fit this filter perfectly in my Camry 2017.

This fit a 2010 Toyota Camry without any issue, all white filter, the one I received was made in China.

It fits well with my Camry SE 2017. I can feel the engine is working better when I speed up, but it can be very subjective.
You may experience it’s hard to put it in compared to the one you have, but it is just because it’s new and thicker.

This filter has one square 90-degree corner and three rounded corners. Because of this genius design, there is only one orientation to install this filter correctly. Looking at the airbox from the from the front of the car, the square 90-corner of the filter goes to the back left corner of the lower airbox. Or said differently, towards the passenger side and closest to the firewall. You should see the corresponding shape once you know this vital detail. There are also corresponding ribs and groves built into the lower airbox, the filter and the airbox lid that will seal the airbox correctly.
