I’m not sure how to exactly rate this in terms of performance as I am not a mechanic, however I never have any problems with it in my 2004 Mazda 3s. When I change oil with this filter, it is still kind of light in comparison to the colors I was getting with the FRAM XG products. I also went from Valvoline to Mobil 1 too, not sure if that’s significant. My biggest point in this review is to point out that this fits the 2004 Mazda 3, as I found it to through Amazon before. For whatever reason, it’s not showing as fitting my car, which I know is false because I have been using them for the past 2 oil changes and there were no issues with the fit whenever I installed them.
Amazon Customer –
I’ve been using Amazon more and more to save money on maintenance items for our vehicles. Very happy so far. Brand new filter.

First on these filters it’s important to note is they are manufactured in Poland, Amazon erroneously claims they originate in the USA. The next tier down WIX filters are made in China. I only use WIX filters, but I feel safe in the assumption that filters from other manufacturers are also made in China.
Considering geopolitical events it would seem prudent to have several of these on your shelf if you do your own vehicle maintenance. Stock up, kids!
WILLIAM L BROCK –
Very good filter construction, good media, metal backing, and held together by metal clamp compared to other filters that use glue for Mazda CX7.

Never had a problem with Wix oil filters. It isn’t crushed or deformed when changing filters. Seems to hold up well.
Vortex Explorer –
This is a high quality long service interval synthetic media filter element (no metal cannister). It suits Mazda 3’s with 2.3L engine (and likely 2L engine) from 2003-2008 (BK series 1 and BK series 2. It has wire mesh over the pleated filtering media to prevent collapse and quality synthetic rubber seal. Very happy with the quality of this item.

Comes with both o-ringsas well. It came in the factory box too.

Great cartridge filters but ffs when you ship em in a bag they end up getting crushed!!
