This thing is awesome for anyone tired of constantly plugging in their phone for CarPlay or Android Auto. My car originally only supported wired connections, but with this adapter, I can leave my phone in my pocket, and my music or audiobooks start right up as soon as I get into the car. I’ve tested it with both a Pixel 8 Pro and my kid’s iPhone 14, and it handles both seamlessly, giving me full wireless functionality without issues.
One thing to keep in mind is that the device doesn’t support having multiple phones paired simultaneously. If you frequently switch between phones, you’ll need to unpair and reconnect each time you want to swap devices. It’s a minor inconvenience but one that’s easy to manage as long as you’re mostly using the same phone. The performance itself is smooth, and I haven’t noticed any lag or drop in connection during use, which is more than I can say for some other built-in wireless Android Auto systems.
I also appreciate the thoughtful design and the included accessories. The sticker you can peel lets you tuck it out of sight once it’s plugged in, so it doesn’t clutter up your dashboard. They even include a USB C adapter. Overall, it’s a slick, way to modernize your car’s infotainment system, and the convenience of going fully wireless is well worth it. This a great little device to hook your phone up to car play, and it does work with a 30 second easy installation. I could listen to music, make voice calls – everything I can do with my wired carplay. So why the 4 stars?
My husband and I are a one car household and our phones use different usb connections. This means we need to plug/unplug regularly every time one of us drives our car. This device falls short on two fronts for me:
1. The device must be both unplugged and forgotten from your bluetooth before it can be plugged in again and connected to another device. I’m sure this is considered safety related so that someone else outside your car doesn’t commandeer your carplay.
2. Our carplay port is always providing a battery source. When we turn the car off, the device continues to ping for bluetooth unless it’s unplugged. So, out of caution, we need to unplug it every time we turn off the car.
The combination of these two items makes it unusable for us because it’s inconvenient. If neither of these issues bother you, I see this is an excellent device to wirelessly connect to your carplay.

It was very annoying having two dongles in the car as me and my SO uses different phones with different echo systems. This unit fixes that forever. Granted one of us has to turn off Bluetooth before heading to the car, but it’s way easier than unplugging this one, and plugging that one.
Overall, I’m pleased with the performance of this wireless Carplay AND Android auto adapter. It was simple to install and functions seamlessly, allowing us to enjoy all the features of Carplay and Android Auto without the hassle of wires.
However, there are a couple of limitations that may affect certain users:
1- Bluetooth Reconnection: The adapter requires you to forget the Bluetooth connection before plugging it in with a different device. This can be slightly inconvenient if you frequently switch between users for the iPhone platform.
2- Continuous Power Draw: The adapter continues to draw power from the car’s USB port even when the car is turned off. This can drain the battery if left plugged in for extended periods.
If these limitations don’t bother you, this wireless Carplay adapter is a great way to enjoy a wire-free connection in your car.

I got this hooked up in my 2017 gmc sierra. It was a bit finicky. It acts as a wifi signal. My truck normal hooks up with a cord and Bluetooth. Not sure why. I tried unpairing the Bluetooth and just using the cord and the Bluetooth reconnected. So I don’t know if I like the wifi and Bluetooth both being connected to the truck at the same time. Not sure if having the wifi taken up by this adapter with mess with wifi text or calls. I GPS was working fine.

This unit does exactly what is says, allowing a wireless Android Auto connection where before it had to be wired. I tested it in a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 with great success. The cable is long enough to allow the dongle to be positioned unobtrusively, which is great, and the glowing LEDs aren’t over-bright or distracting. It even includes a USB A to C adapter AND a small adhesive patch for mounting, so it doesn’t flop around while driving.
There IS some delay with reconnecting, but I can’t determine if that is the fault of this dongle, my phone, or the vehicle.

This was my third attempt at getting a good wireless CarPlay adapter for my 2018 Silverado. As in the last two purchases the adapter worked great for about two weeks and then the problems began. It connects to the vehicle well but doesn’t seem to want to stay connected to the phone which is a PITA! I even had my phone sitting directly on top of the adapter at one point and still it keeps losing connection. Can’t say I’d recommend this provost at all.
