Specifically order a California emission part. Sensor fit perfect, check engine light turned off. Days later check engine light comes back on. Went to auto zone to get a diagnostic. Reading showed the sensor was still the problem

I put this new O2 sensor in my daughter’s car last night and it fit perfectly! I had to buy an O2 sensor made specifically for cars manufactured for California consumers. California laws ensure that cars made for California consumers are engineered with minor differences, which means that even if you buy a part made for your car it won’t fit unless it was designed for California manufacturer and distribution. All together it took me about 15 minutes to do the repair. Now I need to reset the computer so that the check engine light is turned off.
