    Works as advertised.

The media could not be loaded.

This has a larger current relay than other modules that look like this. That 30A relay rated at 24V eliminates the need for a secondary relay in many applications. The downside is the 115ma current draw when on at 12V operation. The switching regulator allows this to be used at higher voltages up to 80V. The current draw will be proportionately lower as the operating voltage increases. For operation with a limited small battery, a lower current module may be better. There is an option to turn off the display after 1 to 9 minutes which will save a small amount of power. With relay off, idle current with display on is 12ma. When the display times out that current drops to 5ma. Pressing the right button ENTER will turn the display back on.

This has separate sense and power terminals which are usually connected together. The upper 99.9V range can be increased by adding an additional resistor in series with the sense terminal. I found a 105K resistor would double that to 200V with the display reading half voltage. Up to 10 times that value would use a resistor of about 960K and allow use with large PV arrays providing the electronics were provided with a voltage under 80V. This makes this meter very versatile. Set points are very easy to change with the option to trip relay on a voltage going high or low.

The only downside is this relay does not have an adjustable delay. Devices like refrigerators with motors have a large initial surge current which can drag voltage down for a few seconds. This could cause false trips in a control system. This monitor was tested to trip in less than a half second. A resistor an capacitor could be added to sense input to provide some filtering and prevent false trips. There is an adjustment for voltage to correct for a voltage drop.

    It did not work

  4. joe

It draw only 5ma when display is off

  5. Paul Rodgers

    nice, simple, easy to surface-mount.
I use this in my 12v solar setup to turn on or off the inverter depending on battery voltage.
