I have done with a grueling test on this product. Used a typical car charge port at 14.1 volts on a bench PS. Hooked up both ports on the charger to my load devices, started at .5 amps held for a minute, increased at .5 amp increments at one minute intervals, till I got to 3 amps, 6 total. I held it there on full power for 10 minutes.
The charger passed the test with no overload trip out or thermal cutout.
The outer case was warm, my infrared gun measured 105 F/40.5 C estimated. Unplugged and touched the contacts, there were about the same temp.
Volport is an excellent car charger!
I also have the capability of triggering the QC algorithm, the QC 2 and 3, work excellent, it is also nice that the charger has the circuitry for Apple charge cables, so they can charge at the maximum current the devices allow.

This product is very sturdy. All metal design. Works well. I have read some of the posts stating it does not support fast charging. I want to confirm that this device does support fast charging. You must use your original charging cable if your phone supports fast charging. I tested with the old cable in my car and was disappointed ☹️. Then, I tried with the original cable and took the picture posted. All micro USB cables are not created equal. The cable must be rated for fast charging. It is stated on the packages now. I would discard any old cables you have laying around at home or in the car.

I purchased the Volport Dual Fast Charging USB Car Charger for charging my new Samsung Galaxy S9 while in the car. So far it works great! Definitely fast charging and fits all my Samsung S9 charging cables. There is no difference between the ports. There are two so you can charge two devices if need be. It is very light weight, much lighter than all my past car chargers, kinda of like a titanium feel. It fits very snug into the cigarette port of any car. You may need to give it a hard push to get it in but that will loosen over time. However, the snug fit ensures that it won’t move or pop out even if tugged on a bit so I would prefer it stays that way. I can’t comment on battery life since I just recieved it but I have a feeling this charger will last years to come. It comes in a sturdy small protective box to ensure no damages when shipping with a tiny card that has directions if need be. Very good product and it does what it should. Very good price for a good car charger.

Definitely the best couple dollars I’ve spent in a hot minute. It’s probably one of the most valuable things in my old run down Jeep now. I like how you can choose between fast (the blue 2.0 one) and really fast (the orange 3.0 one) in case you want to mix it up between slow(er but still super fast compared to others) charging and quick charging your battery like they say is best for your battery. You can barely even notice the light it gives off at night letting you know it’s charging which is nice so it won’t distract you while driving. It’s really durable and packs a little bit of weight just because it’s made of quality materials. I’ve dropped it on the metal floor/shell of my Jeep a couple times and there isn’t even a scratch or dent on it. The only real downside, if I would even call it that, is that I have to press in one of the side metal plugs because they are a little too stiff to fit into the 12V port all by themselves, which really just means it’s darn near impossible that’ll it’ll ever fall out even if you accidentally tug on your charging cord or if you *hypothetically* get mad at the gps for randomly switching routes mid-exit and throw your phone down. Completely worth the $10 and would buy it all over again if I was to lose it or somebody else was to “borrow” it.

Very happy with this Volport Dual Port Fast Charger! Good quality. And it fast changes my Samsung Galaxy S10 cell phone in my car. It also has a little dim light inside so you can find it in the dark. I liked it so much I bought another one.
Update – 1/5/2021 I ordered my 3rd charger! It works so well, I gave one to my daughter. I have one for my tracktor truck, and one for our Prius. This is a very well designed piece of electronics. Easy to find in the dark too. It is illuminated when plugged into a 12 volt reseptical. You won’t be disappointed!

This is a great charger! The build quality is solid, and it tops off my devices quickly. My only warning to potential buyers is that the LEDs on this are REALLY bright. It works fine for me because I use this in a truck where the charger is well out of my line of sight. But in a smaller vehicle, where the charger is closer to eye level or facing upwards, it would be really distracting at night. Get past that, though, and it’s a great product.

it charges fast. BUT it did not last me that long for it’s price. I had rapid chargers for the same price that lasted me 2years from everyday use. Overall it’s good, as rapid chargers are hard to find at a good price.

This is the best car lighter socket to USB charger I have tried. I have a unique use for mine. While 4WD offroading I use a PC tablet with GPS topo software. I’ll have the display at full brightness and all power saving turned off. The tablet display will be on for 10 hours or more. All other USB chargers produced slightly less current than was consumed. By the end of the day the tablet was about 30% discharged. But this 3A charger easily runs the tablet with GPS software and Bluetooth on. A test with the tablet battery starting at 20%, one hour later the battery had a charge of 60%. Very nice.
I also like that the ground terminals have plenty of spring pressure so the charger stays securely in the car socket.
