Each set includes two filters and the necessary tools for Model 3 or Model Y, so you’ll have everything you need right out of the box. Installation is DIY-friendly and can save you a lot of money, it takes about 30 minutes, and once you do it once, it’s even easier the next time. The included instructions are also clear and helpful. The fit and finish of these filters are outstanding. There’s a noticeable amount of carbon inside, and they appear to be true HEPA filters. The box frame feels solid, and the foam lining around the edges ensures a better seal. The fabric pull tabs are a nice touch too. They installed perfectly in my 2022 Model Y without any issues.
If you’re replacing your filters, I highly recommend grabbing an evaporator cleaner preferably one with a hose to clean the evaporator coils at the same time. It’s a quick extra step that’s definitely worth it!

I’ve been hunting for a solution to the Model Y cabin funk. Charcoal and HEPA seemed like a logical solution but I had my doubts which were unfortunately confirmed.
I cleaned my system with a foaming auto HVAC cleaner, a necessary step if you’ve watched any videos on this whole issue. Because these filters aren’t flexible you kind of have to jam them into place. I immediately noted the cabin air flow but went with it, I was determined to get that funky sock smell to go away. Less than two months later.. it’s back.
If you are buying this to combat Tesla’s poorly designed cooling system and trying to exercise the funk, definitely pass. Not only does it not solve the issue, you risk voiding your warranty as it will stress the system.
Look for standard filters, maybe something with Microban, and get a plastic clip which keeps the filter off the floor of the system. Moisture build up is the culprit. Again, there are videos on this topic that go on detail about the solution. This filter is not it.

I chose the Vion Activated Carbon Cabin Filter. I heard some good reviews online & it seems pretty solid. I installed it myself for about 10-15 minutes. It’s super easy. No sweat at all. Viola!, the smell was gone instantly after I turned on my air conditioner. No need for deodorizers. I can smell fresh air inside the car again! Quick fix and you save a lot of money by installing it yourself. Well recommended! I will buy it again!
