Works great, but the product I plug into the cord likes to slide out a just little bit to where it doesn’t work. Dunno if that’s a cord problem or the other thing.

  2. michael thompson jr

    It’s okay

  3. mel

Works great. Couldn’t find one at any of the automotive shops.

  4. Phil Reichert

So happy this was available. it worked just like I wanted it to.

New trucks no longer have cig lighters so this was needed for older devices dependant on older power source.

So I already had a 2 way splitter on my car’s cigarette lighter port and I didn’t really want to buy a 3 way one because the 2 way one just fits perfectly and I didn’t want one with cables hanging all over the place. My car has a built-in USB port so I decided to try this. If I’m completely honest I didn’t expect this to work since USB ports are typically 5v and this somehow converts that to 12v. Sounds like witchcraft to me. At any rate upon receipt I found that the built-in USB port in my old 2010 Ford Focus was not able to power this device sadly. My guess is because it’s a data port so it likely has even less power going to it than a normal one would. So, it MIGHT work in your car, especially if it’s a newer one, but I can say there’s a chance it might not. I WAS able to get it working with a USB port on a 12v car charger I had plugged in, though, and that has been perfect! I now have my dash cam, Car charger, and my Android Auto screen all powered from 1 port in my car! This device did exactly what I had hoped it would and I am still unsure of what kind of wizardry these people have done to accomplish it! All I know is it DOES work! I highly recommend this to anyone who has a spare USB port that’s actually supposed to be for charging and needs an extra 12v outlet! You won’t be disappointed!

Works well for it’s intended purpose, plugging my older radar detector in to my 12v phone charger in the spare vans at work that only have one cigarette lighter socket.

The inside of this socket is completely smooth, so any male plug with a spring loaded positive tip can work itself out and disconnect from power if you’re not paying attention. I was able to keep it all together with a couple zip ties.

I think it worked for less than a minute and then never turned on again. Built cheap and wasn’t able to handle basic DC load.
