I have a BMW e82 with 110k km and thought it’d be a good idea to replace old solenoids as a preventative maintenance. I got these URO ones because they were recommended in a couple of websites. I was gonna install them myself, but I ended up letting my mechanic do it for me because other issues came up that were beyond my ability. The mechanic, upon seeing the solenoid boxes in my hand, said “those are not good, they don’t last. They are from China, right?” I already purchased them, so I might as well use them although they may not last 5,000 km. So he installed them anyway, and alas, they didn’t last 50 km! While driving to work the next day, I got a a CEL on, and the car went into the limp mode. The scan reveals the error code 2a82: VANOS intake. Verdict: I had a professional install them for me, so it’s not my fault. I would not recommend this product.

I got one new and one that looks used. Haven’t installed to test out yet but beware of this.

Fit was perfect, no engine light, and most important fixed the issue I was having.

I don’t know why people are throwing up such poor ratings here. My car is high mileage and they were throwing codes (still had originals 300k+ km later) so I thought I’d give these a shot. Replaced both with these URO units a month ago and they’ve been perfect. No codes, absolutely no issues, engine runs perfect.
Not claiming they’re on the same level as OEM.. perhaps they’ll fail sooner. But running these for a month now (plenty of driving), they’ve been perfect. URO is usually good at standing behind their product if anything, and these take like 5 minutes to install, so I’m not worried about it.
If you’re debating whether to DIY, go for it. The install is as simple as it gets, not worth a trip to the mechanic. Just be mindful of the bushings so you don’t double up or let the old ones fall somewhere they’re shouldn’t.

Bought 2 and 1 was obviously not new and very well used, package was repacked with packing tape. Obviously a return. 2nd one did not fit although looks identical it is around 1mm or 2mm to big so it will not go into vehicle. Fyi… Triple checked part numbers and used Amazons vehicle confirmation. This part is simply made wrong, do not buy. Amazon and euro parts need to do better.
