This is the lower dipstick tube not the top one. It’s an upgraded version of the oem one being that it’s all metal and doesn’t have the plastic connector on top the oem one has. Pulled it out with a bolt and slide hammer tapped the new one in with a socket and hammer. Would have been 5 stars but mine didn’t come with the o ring.

It was supposed to fit my car. I put in my cars info and it was the wrong part.

Eliminates a design flaw with Audi dipstick tubes which like to break the plastic tip off and drop plastic into your oil pan. Unfortunately you cannot remove the pressed in OEM dipstick tube unless you push it out from inside the block by removing the oil pan. You cannot remove the oil pan unless you remove the front subframe of the car, you have the engine out for rebuild, or just hoisted a few feet up in the air in the engine bay (even that is dubious). I tried the slide hammer technique as well, but didn’t work for me. I couldn’t commit to destroying the tube to take it out, so I probably could have been more aggressive with it like the other reviewer. Just wasn’t worth it to me if I messed it up and still couldn’t extract it. Its a major undertaking, so this is a part you are basically not going to install unless you have the engine out. God help you if you go through all that just to replace this tube.
