I got this hoping for the most bare-bones, stripped down magsafe magnetic car mount that I could possibly get. Quite tired of buying car mounts with 3 different joints and a special clamp that only holds on certain models and drops your phone if you don’t angle it right.
Well I am happy to say that this car mount is just exactly what I wanted. It is very easy to set up, just screw the two parts together and then use the gravity clip to hang on any vent or outcropping in the car’s dashboard. It’s not rock solid but it also doesn’t fall off easily and I don’t mind if it wiggles now and again. The magnet IS rock solid. You have to firmly pull your phone away. I’m very pleased by that, no more phone dropping off under my feet and down the seat cushion etc. I would get this car mount again.

This seems to be ok quality wise but I have some reservation about saying so for long term since it’s plastic that seems kind of hard. I’ve had various mounts for phones and GPSs on motorcycles and they seem more robust. They had a rubber ball that the friction from the clamping side could really get a grip on and a better feeling plastic. I don’t envision changing the orientation of the magnetic mount after installation – it’s set so the phone faces me, so I’d like that to position to stay put and not slip.
While I didn’t take any high g corners, the magnet holds the phone securely. I have an iPhone 14 with a magsafe case.
I wanted to mount this on the vent further away from the driver so I wouldn’t be blocking any moving air from a vent close to the driver. But that vent faced a bit towards the passenger and I couldn’t rotate the magnetic mount far enough to face me well enough. So I used a closer vent that faced straight into the cabin and it’s really a better spot for the phone, but I wonder what that’ll be like come the hot summer with that vent blocked.
Included instructions are incomplete and worthless. Fortunately, it’s fairly straight forward on what to do.
Overall it’s a flexible enough mount to place your phone in a desirable position while driving, (much better than the center console cup holder I’d been using). Seems good enough quality wise too.

I actually am using this in my workshop. I use it to swap between either a book holder or a 10″ tablet at one of my workbenches. It has no trouble at all with the 10″ tablet, and with the book holder it will securely hold all but the biggest of my fly tying books.

Recently switched to magsafe. I needed to switch phone mounts in multiple vehicles. I purchased three of these. Two of them I’m using as intended on dash vents. They work really well and hold the phone out away from the vent far enough I can reach the phone without moving my arm off the armrest. Very secure and doesn’t flop around. The third one I just switched the head out to an existing mount in another vehicle. Went on to the 17mm ball no problem very secure. Would definitely buy again.

I cleaned the case with the provided wet and dry wipes, applied the ring and it wouldn’t stick to my flat surface case. The case is made of silicone.
Since it was free with the purchase of an FM transmitter, I just threw it in the trash.
