Don’t have to worry about plastic cracking. Feels well made, but there are some grooves on the inside and one on the threads. I doubt that will affect it though. The oil filter it came with seems nice too, but I’m sticking with the ones I bought.

Replacing the OEM plastic one because threads were cracking. This metal housing one is well made and seems to fit pretty well. I chose to discard the included filter as it did not have any manufacturer/part marking on it, discarded the prongs as well in lieu of a set I had that I knew the origins of. The price is great for this regardless but I would’ve taken a few bucks off and the vendor not bother with including the filter and o-rings.

I wanted to spruce up my Ford 2.7l engine and add a little bling under the hood. After many oil filter changes, the old plastic filter housing had seen better days and was ready for a replacement. I never liked the fact that such an important part of the engine was made from plastic. This hosing is an exact fit for the stock Motorcraft housing but made of sturdy metal which gives me piece of mind and a great look. All the o-rings are a filter are included. Very well made and a fantastic value compared to purchasing another plastic housing. Highly recommend!

At $23.99 you get a nice oil filter housing. I was really pleasantly surprised at how nice this is. I am not ready to change the oil yet, but I assume it will work (and am going with “4 stars” under that assumption).
The included oil filter is marginal, at best. Won’t be using that. Nor the rings. Wrench size needed is 25mm (1 inch). Will definitely keep the OEM plastic one (just in case I run into issues with this one).
Not perfect, so here are my suggestions as to why and/or to make this better. First, I think a brushed aluminum finish would look nicer; this shiny finish looks better on “American Graffiti” hot rods, etc. YMMV. Second, the top of the cap (where there is the 25mm removal bit) should have an indent in the 25mm section to fit a 3/8″ extension (thereby bypassing the need for a 25mm socket). Third, if the seller really wants to make a splash, offer this aluminum cover in colors (red, blue, green, orange, black). There is definitely a market out there for colors (especially Bronco owners)!
Not perfect, but for the price, it’s not bad. I like it. If I encounter any issues when I change my oil, then I’ll come back and update. If not, then this review will stand as is.
4 stars.

Nice to have something stronger than the plastic OEM one. Would have been nice if the oil bypass was also metal and one piece with the cap.

The original oil filter housing on my 2016 F-150 with 2.7 Ecoboost is getting difficult to remove. The original plastic housing is getting soft and the wrenching features are rounding off.
I saw this nice aluminum one that thought I’d check it out. It’s very well made. The threads are cut cleanly and the machine work looks great. Overall, I’m very pleased with this housing.

This looks and worked great. Like the other reviews, the filter provided looks pretty cheap so I used the one the I bought previously.

The stock oil filter housing on the Ford Ecoboost 2.7L is made of some sort of plastic/fiber, which bothers me a little. This is a polished aluminum housing which I think should be more robust and it’s a bit blingy. It appears to be made well. The filter included with it doesn’t show a manufacturer and I’m picky about oil filters, so I’ll be using a regular Motorcraft filter with the housing.
I haven’t needed to change oil yet, but if I have any issues with this filter housing when I do, I’ll update this review.
