Part fits just like factory, I didn’t have to cut any wires and it plugged right in. The only difference that I can see is the filter screen is a little smaller than factory. The pump is also alot quieter than the factory pump. Very pleased.

*don’t be in a hurry, inspect everything first, disconnect your battery first for safety (some just remove the fuse but I didn’t want anything electrical running while I had gas fumes from the tank in the atmosphere, where my face doesn’t belong)
I just purchased this 2004 Lincoln LS AS IS, which included the fuel pump issues (not enough pressure or not pressure issues), so I knew nothing of it’s previous repairs and the owner wasn’t giving anything up. (107,000 miles in AZ heat desert). (2004 LS V6 Luxury with manual trans shift (auto trans))
Also…it is an LS…with a history of repeated problems with this model.
But the car run’s like a fox escaping a California fire…fun to drive!
The pump on this LS is under the back passenger seat on the passenger side of the car. it has an inspection/access rubber cap that’s removed to r&r the pump and sending unit, and the same on the opposite side of the tank for the siphon-sending-unit-only assembly(no pump on driver’s side).
*Take Note:
(1) Though the pump by itself works excellent as a replacement to the existing pump the problem I had was assuming “BEFORE” I removed the existing pump that it was original factory (it wasn’t…it was a cheaper brand and hadn’t been in place very long.
The existing pump had been replaced before with a non-factory fuel pump assembly. Because of this, the new filters provided with the replacement kit would not work with/on my assembly. (the filter on my old pump assembly is L-Shaped and only had one filter. The filter mounts to the bottom of the pump motor and does a 90 degree turn from the bottom out, and up the side of the inner housing after the pump is installed. The fuel basket the inner housing sets in does not have a filter.
(2) the bottom of the new pump may or may not match the bottom of the old pump you are replacing…and in that case…you may have to modify the old fuel pump housing to reuse the existing fuel screen/filter. (I thoroughly flushed the old screen with carburetor cleaner, modified the base and side of the housing so that the screen and new fuel pump motor would correctly fit in the housing base.
Prior to removing the fuel pump assembly from the gas tank, I noticed little gouge marks on the Lock Ring which gave me a heads up not to expect a factory unit, plus, there was little dirt or dust on it’s top.
This was not an easy swap as the fuel pump outlet hose to be replaced was hard as a rock. The included hose worked but it’s a rubber fuel line, thick, and not as flexible so you have to make sure that if it needs to make a bend it doesn’t pinch and then out-flow restrict fuel. The original was a ribbed flex hose that probably hardened while immersed in the fuel and used Crimped Clamps and not hose clamps to secure the hose ends in place. The hose clamps provided work but you may want to tighten them in and out first because the factory doesn’t do that for this item, and the provide clamps are very hard to close. I had to hold one end with pliers while turning the adjuster with a straight screw driver first.
(3) the electrical connector to the old fuel pump was wider that the new connector, so I modified the ends of the new connector with “Blade Connectors” and then plugged the blade ends into the corresponding red/black wire connection of the original.
Reassembled…tested…got my fuel pressure back up above 40 PSI…works fine!
In my particular case…just to save time being on my 65 year old knees…and fighting the 30 or more mosquitos while doing the work in my driveway…plus the present 104 degree heat…I’ll but the whole assembly instead and get the job done in 30 minutes instead of 3 hours, and skip the spike in blood pressure. 🙂

Do not buy this product. This will not fit your car the rods of this pump will not insert inside the electric housing of the fuel assembly. The rods of the product is too wide and you need a narrow rod for it to fit. Do not buy this product.
