I use this to secure the battery in the bottom of my boat. It is metal so it will last, but it’s also aluminum so it will not rust and corrode the rest of my boat. The holes for the battery cables are gigantic and will take some very large conductors, however I just used some 8 gauge automotive wire and ran it out one of the holes. There is some room around the battery to put insulation if you were using this in a cold climate. However in the boat I like the fact that the water will drain out and not stay in the battery box if any were to get in there. I have it down in the bilge area towards the back to keep the weight low. I only use my boat in freshwater so I’m not too worried about conductivity, if a little bit of water gets into the battery box it will drain and dry out. I highly recommend this if you need to secure a battery to a piece of farm equipment, and accessory battery in your overland van, or as I used it in a boat. This thing is great.

I have two very similar products (nearly identical) but this one has much less features, it remains in 3 pieces after assembly, and it’s only a few dollars less than others.
Fit was good – just assemble loosely with all hardware before tightening. Battery hold down is a strange design.
I’d personally pay 5 dollars more and get handles, more hardware for holding the box together, rubber feet, and spring latches for top.
