I have an older much clunkier vent mount phone holder. When I got this, it was so small, I thought it must be a toy. But in fact, it works absolutely perfectly and I’m buying another. Great product.
Added: WARNING – this grips thicker vent louvers really hard. I yanked mine off without being careful and actually pulled the louver out – pretty sure it will snap back in – but now that I know this, I would be much more careful in removing it!

Solid product, but the rubber padding on the sides of the holder can peel off as the glue can melt if too hot. Just something to keep in mind. Might have to re-glue it. Otherwise, works great.

The placement of this in my car is straight in the sun but it’s on the vent so it keeps it cooler. It’s really good at keeping my phone up and I’ve had it for just about 6 months and it’s held up great. It takes about 30 seconds to put it on the vent. And I think it’s a great price for the quality

The good news is that once you get your phone in the mount, and get the mount positioned right in the vent, it holds the phone well with the minimum amount of obstruction of the vent or charging port.
The bad news is that the springs are on both sides, pretty stiff, and don’t expand enough. So, when you try to slip in your phone with one hand (like you can do on the one-sided-spring versions), it won’t open enough to accept the phone, starts to yank the mount out of the vent, and you have to use your other hand to awkwardly open the other side of it while keeping the mount in place.
So, it’s ok, but next time I’m getting a one-sided version instead.

I bought this to use with my Samsung Note 10 plus. Does a very good job holding it in place.
I have a case on my phone and it still holds it quite well. I mostly use it for watching while I’m waiting for my son to get out of school.
I can’t say how well it holds during driving.
