When I finally figured out that the Fiesta actually had a cabin air filter, even though the owners manual first printing (US 2011) didn’t show a part number or service procedure, and after checking several enthusiast websites gave it a shot even though the process was described as difficult. This TYC filter was the lowest price I found as an OEM replacement. Instructions with photographs are included. Disconnect the blue sensor wire by rotating a half-turn counterclockwise. The tedious step is removing and reinstalling the five (5) Torx screws on the housing cover. Use a flex or swivel ratchet with a T20 bit. It’s not possible to manually or visually verify proper seating of the new filter when installed other than the exposed end and fitting required some manipulation so hopefully it seated itself.
After a few seconds on high fan I could tell the difference in smell. No smell. I’m glad I finally got this accomplished. Gold star for my forehead.
If this process appears challenging get a car stereo guy to do it. I understand the dealerships may charge up to $50.00 in labor.

I replaced the stock cabin air filter with this in my 2012 Ford Fiesta. As stated by a few other people, this thing was a real hassle to get in due to the location of where the filter goes. There were pretty good instructions in the box for how to install the filter, but I found them to be a little bit overkill compared to a video tutorial I found online. Specifically, the included instructions said to remove the glove box and unhooking a duct behind the glove box, which actually seemed to be unnecessary for removing the filter cover and removing/replacing the filter. Unhooking the duct probably helps if you only have a large too for removing the hex screws on the cover, but for me it was totally doable without removing either the duct or glove box.
One thing to note: this filter was significantly more flimsy than the stock filter that came with the car, which made it a lot harder to be sure that it was in place correctly and not bunched up. I imagine a firmer filter might be a little harder to actually get in to the awkward area it needs to go, but at least you would be (slightly) more sure that the filter is actually filtering all the air that passes through the duct, and not just allowing air to get around the filter due to it being bunched up.
