Beachmom –
On going problem of window working erratically. It would go up a few inches and stop. If you gave it a few minutes, it would go up a little more and stop again. Usually 3 attempts would get it fully closed again. Replaced the switch a year ago with a switch from Switch Doctor. It seemed to fix the problem. When I started having issues recently, I replaced the switch again (Switch Doctor). This time no luck.
Just finished installing this Regulator Assembly. Window travels much faster and works like new. Install took about an hour. Much easier than I thought it would be. I don’t think testing the motor by bypassing the switch would have helped with an intermittent problem. Don’t know.
I’ll update review if anything changes.

Lube up all the parts and your installed window mechanism will be golden for another 20 years at least. Go Taco! Works perfectly without a single delay. Most of your installation time will be in carefully removing the door panel, securing the glass, and removing the weather barrier. Otherwise, sit back and serve yourself a refreshing drink when you’re all done. Amazon up!

Before I took the mounting screws off the old one, I sized up the bolt pattern on the new one. It appeared as if the orientation was wrong, or that I accidentally purchased the passenger side. Keep in mind it will collapse and move around and proceed with the install. Perfect fit all around, quite operation, and already greased. No issues with connector fitment. This is also a good time to replace or diagnose door handles and speakers.

Works great just like a new truck. Fits perfect including the electrical connection. I pulled the window up and out although it can be replaced just by propping the window in the open position. Position the lower part of the regulator so the screw holes are visible through the holes in the door panel.

This was a perfect fit for the Driver’s Side window on a 2002 Tacoma. Installation was easier than I expected, and took only 30 minutes (watch a youtube video first). The original assembly/motor wouldn’t roll the window all the way up, and this was an easy and cheap fix. Seemed like the whole assembly costs about the same as the motor itself, and installing the whole assembly was much easier. I also bought a kit with retainer clips, which came with an extraction tool which was very helpful. Overall I broke three retainer clips, but easily replaced them.

This assembly was purchased and installed in my 2001 tacoma double-cab drivers window. Removal of door panel and then regulator assembly easy with a 10mm socket and phillips screwdriver. Multiple video tutorials for reference on-line. Assembly was packaged well with plenty of lubrication in gear assembly. Works as advertised. Happy camper after 1 week in use. 4 stars given for price due to Bidenflation.
