Easy install, feels secure but the pressure of the hood closed on the 2 shocks causes the rear of the hood (against windshield) to lift up just a tiny bit. I dont think its hurting anything, seems like the gasket is still sealing but you can see that the transition from the fender to the hood has a small lip now instead of it being smooth. Im talking like 1/8 of an inch so again I think its okay so I will keep them installed.

This is the item that Hyundai should have installed. Good quality item that was easy to install and priced reasonably. Works perfectly. Great purchase. No problems after 2 years since installed.

The Santa Cruz hood is a bit on the heavy side and I am not a fan of a hood prop. I bought the struts for these reasons. They were surprisingly easy to install. When I received the product I reviewed the instructions. Oh boy, that was a head scratcher. After looking over the parts and skimming the instructions once again, I grabbed my tool and went to work. It took no time at all and was much easier than I had anticipated. I will say that the “nut” that you insert into the hood, both are on a thin flat bendable metal piece. The two nuts are held on with electrical tape. When the mounting point is threaded in, the tape releases and you have the metal piece with the other nut taped to it. Keep this in mind when manipulating the nut inside the hood cavity. Don’t knock it off the metal band prematurely.
It sounds far more complicated than it is. Quick, easy and works great. I have had no issues with bulging or anything. Everything fits and works as I hoped it would.

I installed these on my 2023 Santa Cruz and then tried to close the hood. When I did, the rear of the hood. raised 1/2″. I looked on the Santa Cruz Facebook page and there were several stories of the same problem with the same product. I notified the company and they said send a video of the problem. I went thru this with another company in a different matter and decided I was not going to jump thru their hoops. They are aware of the problem as one of the Santa Cruz Facebook members stated that the company sent them a new set but had not yet installed them. Another member stated they had cut the support bracket height down and it helped with their problem. I personally do not care to modify a companies product. The best bet is to not buy them. I ended up going thru Amazon for a refund because this company would not send a return label.
