Good, reproduction part. Took me about 20 minutes to replace my old one, and it seals up tight. I got a satisfying puff out of the fuel tank the first time I cracked the cap for gas, which tells me it’s holding tank pressure. Good for another 30 years, I reckon.

Both tanks on my 1996 Ford F-150 single cab long bed (mid & rear tanks) were leaking at the filler neck. I got the truck on government auction, so I had very little idea of its care and maintenance history. I didn’t notice the leak until I filled the rear tank and switched to it. First, the rear tank would leak from the neck upon accelerating or parking on a hill. After using that tank for a little, it pumped all the gas to the front tank! Because the rear tank is larger than the front, and because the fuel tank selector valve is stuck, the rear tank overfilled the front tank so much, the pressure built up and knocked out the rust creating a few larger cracks on the front filler neck. I purchased both the front and rear from TRQ brand because the installation videos helped me confirm I was getting the correct parts which made the process quite easy.
The necks were double boxed and packaged pretty nicely. I opened the boxes and the neck inside was in a plastic bag the length of the neck. The back was sealed. Yet, there was somehow an orangey (rust looking) bit of dust and staining on the package. I’m hoping this was just some kind of oil or maybe some bits of metal dust which rusted in the bag? I’m not sure but there was no visible rust on the filler neck itself. It just concerns me that if there was bits of rust in the bag already before it was even exposed to the elements, then how will it withstand my northeast road salt winters and bay/salt air? To prevent any future rusting, I plan to coat the outside of the filler neck with Fluid Film, as I do to the rest of my truck annually.
Considering the instructional videos online, the installation of the filler neck was extremely easy, even with a very rusty and old truck. Even though they weren’t completely rusty and couldve been used again, I also replaced the hose clamps since I already had them on hand and they’ll last longer.
I have had no issues so far. The fuel filler nozzle fits like the original, the oem gas caps fit like original, and everything lined up like the original. The only difference I noted was that my original filler neck (the one I replaced) was slightly crushed where the hose clamps on. I’m not sure if this was intentional and part of the design or just a result of something crushing it on my specific truck. Either way, I had no issues getting the new one to fit the old hose. While I do think the necks are a little expensive considering they’re not even painted or coated, I think Fluid Film will prevent the rust just fine and the videos pretty much made it worth the price. Just for the convenience factor combined with oem-like quality, I would recommend the replacement aft of rear axle filler neck.

I set out to replace three heavily rusted fuel system components on my 03 Jeep Wrangler 4.0: the fuel tank skid plate, the straps, and the filler neck. Once everything was reassembled, I could only get the gas pump nozzle to trickle the fuel in at a very slow rate or else the nozzle would shut off.
Thinking that I had done something wrong over the course of the project, I devoted several weekends to removing and reinstalling my gas tank and troubleshooting the problem. I did not suspect that TRQ’s metal tube was so poorly made that you cannot actually pump gas though it.
When I swapped in a used MOPAR filler neck, the problem was fixed.
When you compare the TRQ and MOPAR filler necks side by side, it is easy to see how TRQ cut manufacturing costs at the expense of the product actually working. The crude, welded, angular taper of the TRQ tube splashes fuel back into the venturi opening, causing the pump to shut off.
The overall rating of this defective product will never reflect it’s quality because 140 different parts are sold on this same page as different colors of the same product. This is how companies defeat the Amazon review system and manage to hide their defective products amongst many other different products that may actually work. This is much easier and cheaper than correcting flaws in a defective product.
The product is past it’s return window, so I ran it over with a 33” tire and threw it in a scrap heap. I don’t even care about the money. I want all my time back… the weekends spent troubleshooting and thinking that I had done something wrong and damaged my TJ’s fuel system.
I hate TRQ.

it’s a quality-built filler neck. Easy to install. And lastly will fit 2500hd too. So, if your 2007 to 2012 or 2013 2500hd gas motor truck has a leak in the filler neck. this will work for you.

Works great on my 2004 Buick Rainer, solved my leaking and the fuel nozzle clicks off.
The previous owner was cheap, he tried fixing it with a garden hose instead of buying a new part.

Not bad. But has a design flaw in the fill part that wont allow full flow of fuel into the tank. Either the piece is shorter or the flap part was installed to close to the bottom where it tappers down. Takes forever to fill with fuel as I have to go real slow while filling. Will have to reuse this part off my original line.
