This flasher module did work well to eliminate the hyper flash on my 03 wrangler. The only downside about this product is that it makes the chime of your turn signal much quieter than stock, if you thought the turn signal chime was too loud then this would be an upside for you. This was plug and play and fit perfectly.

I got a set of LED turn signals and a set of LED tail light bulbs for my 99 Jeep Wrangler TJ. The bulbs are bright but had massive hyper flash, bulbs flashing much faster than they should. I installed this relay in place of the stock relay and it fixed the problem. Now all the bulbs flash at a normal rate. This relay will also work with stock bulbs or a mix of stack and LED. On my 99 Jeep Wrangler TJ the flasher is located on the steering shaft bracket on the right side. You have to remove the plastic cover and the steel support bracket at the bottom of the steering wheel. 6 screws total then the old flasher pops right out. I found this relay on a major jeep supply place online and it was $4 more. You cannot beat the amazon price and the very fast shipping. Ordered Friday received Sunday. If you have a jeep and are going to LED light bulbs pick up this relay it is much easier than trying to wire in resistors in line with each bulb.

I installed new LED rear combination lights on my 2006 Jeep TJ. The installation went smoothly but, having read many reviews and seen many YouTube videos, I realized that I might have a hyper flash problem. On completion of the installation, the turning signals in both the new lights and the original front lights suffered hyper flash. I saw mention of this EP 26 relay as being the solution to the problem. Installation on the TJ involves removing the upper and lower steering column covers. The relay is situated facing the front of the vehicle on top of the steering column and so it was a simple matter of removing the relay and putting in the new, and then refitting the covers. Instant result, hyper flash solved! Overall the job took less than 10 minutes although if anyone has not removed the steering column covers previously, it might take longer but I was familiar with the job having recently replaced the lighting/flash control stalk.

So glad to have found this. Converted my 03 TJ to all LED’s, and it wouldn’t blink at all, could just hear the flasher buzzing. This completely fixed it and it blinks like new! Normal blinking speed, not hyperflash.
Yes, the blinkers can be operated with the key off/out with this flasher, because this doesn’t have the fifth pin (doesn’t bother me at all).
The flasher is on top of the steering column, slightly right side, covered by an off-white tape. Just remove the two deep Philips screws underneath the steering column, toward the steering wheel and gently pop off the column covers.
So easy. So much better than resistors!!

Update1/11/17-The weird operation was caused by a defective brake light switch which I replaced after writing this. I now give the product a solid 4.5 and will round up to 5. Still wish it fit the original clip but a tie-wrap handled that easily.
Fixed the LED hyper flash turn signal problem on my 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, with a pleasant surprise…
I recently upgraded all lighting to LED. The turn signals in particular had a serious non starter. They flashed extremely fast to the point of being annoying. Options to fix this included:
1) Go back to incandescent bulbs (and associated higher battery load).
2) Install a resistor in parallel to each bulb (adds the load back to the circuit AND chops up my wiring)
3) Get this new relay that supposedly fixes the whole thing and maintains the low load of the LED lights.
Duh! Simple choice! Replacement was really a 15 minute job with just a phillips screwdriver and flathead tip. In the 2000 Wrangler, you have to:
1) Remove 2 screws on the lower plastic panel behind the steering column and swing it down to remove the entire panel (lower the tilt mechanism first!).
2) Remove 4 screws on a metal cover plate behind that one and put that aside.
3) Remove old Factory relay. It’s on the right side of the steering column behind a horizontal wiring duct. The old relay has a groove that accommodates the clip mounted to the back panel. Just pry it off with a flat head screwdriver and pop it off.
4) Plug this new relay into the socket the old one came out of. This one won’t go back into the bracket the old one came out of. You can leave to hang or tie wrap it to something. I tie wrapped it back to the original mounting bracket. (I doubt there would be a problem just letting it hang loose but I’m a rattle freak) You could probably bend the bracket to fit this back in but you’d still need to tie wrap it.
5) Screw it all back together the way it came apart.
Performance:
This relay definitely slowed the flash down perfectly. It does exhibit a weird trait when I put the emergency flashers on…If the turn signal stalk is in center or left turn position, the front passenger signal does not flash. Put the turn signal stalk in right turn mode and all lights flash as they are supposed to. I tried flipping it between left, right and center with random results except the right turn position that worked every time. I don’t know if this will change but it’s an acceptable quirk to save battery load, in my mind.
The pleasant surprise is, the volume of the signal clicking is about half of the stock relay. Something that has always aggravated me about this vehicle. Even more reason to tolerate the emergency flash quirk.
I highly recommend this device as a cheap quick fix for your LED conversion on a Jeep. Price is great. Exact 4 pin retrofit for a 2000 Wrangler TJ.

Perfect and fixed my hyper flash on my new LED taillights for my 03 TJ. Installation took 8 minutes, but should have taken only 5. My old flasher was really stuck in there, so I had to wiggle it out for a while. Other than that, am very pleased with the results. This one is 4 pronged, but apparently works better than the 5 prong ones that I read reviews about.
