Unfortunately I had to use this and I’m happy to say it saved my wrangler jeep, heading back from New Mexico on I-20 with my jeep in tow the receiver hitch welds broke and lost the complete tow bar assembly jeep and all, the only thing that saved the jeep and possibly serious injuries to others was the brake away cable system. The sheriffs department said it looked like it slowly came to a stop just off the interstate, definitely get one if you don’t have one not just for you but for the safety of others.

Took away one star because the red cable that attaches to the RV is not adjustable length, it is crimped at both ends, it does say 48 inches in the description but it seems useless to have extra cable that can’t be used to lengthen. Bought a coiled cable to make up the extra length.

Overall ok, it will do the job. Only problem? I have to find me some braided aircraft wire. The 9 feet provided with the kit is not enough for our Ford Ranger. I need at least 12 better 14.
