Absolutely an OE part. 10 minute job on my ‘00 4Runner. My only advice is if you can afford an entire lock set meaning doors, trunk/ hatch and ignition buy it. I have two keys now. The new ignition key and the old key for all of my doors.

I bought this vehicle a few months ago and the ignition lock was acting up, not wanting to turn. Most of the time, it worked fine, but sometimes I had to jiggle the key in the ignition to get it to turn. It deteriorated over the next few months until it took me five minutes to finally turn the cylinder.
There are plenty of good videos on YouTube for installation of the cylinder. After assuring myself the product would work, I took it back out, went to a locksmith, and had them change the tumblers in the new cylinder to allow my old key to work. I spent that extra $30 so all of the locks on the vehicle would work with one key. Easy peasy.
I could have purchased one of the other brands for quite a bit less money, but I wanted the peace of mind that comes with the known quality of the genuine OEM product.

Installation took me a bit to figure out but YouTube came to the rescue. Once in, the key turned flawlessly and I no longer have to jiggle the key and get stuck just before the ACC. Only issue you would need to deal with is not having matching keys for the door, but I have an alarm with remote entry so no need to worry too much, but I still keep the old key on the fob in case I need to unlock the door manually.

I had previously purchased from Amazon a replacement cylinder and key set for my Tacoma and it lasted about 3 months before the key began to stick in the cylinder lock.
The Toyota dealership wanted $175.00 for the part but I purchased the Toyota factory cylinder and key set from Amazon for a substantial discounted price so my advice is if you want the part to last spend the additional funds and get the factory replacement part for the best service.

great deal and works perfect. it was super easy to install took and 15 minutes to put in and down the road you go. phillips screwdriver a 10 mm socket a ratchet and somethin small to push the pin in to pull ignition out..
1 phillips screw
4 10mm bolts
and 1 push pin
and thats all you need to undo to get the plastic piece off under your steering wheel. oh and the rubber piece around your ignition pops off to.
i did this on a 1997 toyoya tacoma it says it wont work in description if you have a manual transmission and tilt wheel but that is not correct. i call toyota dealer and this is the number that went with my truck. hope this helps
