I installed this on my little MF 35 tractor so the battery doesn’t run down. It works like it should but honestly the quality isn’t that good. It feels cheap, the metal is light weight, and there isn’t a stop to hold the bolt head. Most battery clamps have a stop so you can tighten the nut and the bolt is held in place. I know it’s a small thing but it does affect my opinion of this device. Again it works and for my little tractor it is fine but I wouldn’t put it on my full size tractor or pickup.

I’ve got a 1975 Maverick that sits in the garage for about 4 months during the winter. Normally I cycle a battery tender on it, but this is even better. Once I’ve got it cleaned up and ready for nap time, I can simply flip this switch to off and not be worried about the battery running down. Then put the car cover on and it will be ready for next year. The switch works, but it feels odd. It’s really hard to turn, and honestly doesn’t feel like it engages real well. But, that is all just feel and could mean nothing. We’ll see how long it lasts in practice.

One of our older cars has a parasitic electrical drain that will completely discharge the car battery within a few days. With this disconnect, we should be easily able to disconnect the battery when not being driven and then reconnect should we want to use the car. Haven’t installed this yet as the old battery is dead and having been completely discharged several times, will no longer hold a charge. So now waiting to buy a new battery before trying to install this. The battery is inside a battery box inside the engine compartment, so I have to figure out a way to get this to fit. I would say that the manufacturing is acceptable but somewhat cheap. The On/Off switch doesn’t seem that durable but we will see.

Great little switches. We travel a lot and the cars sit. Pop the hood flip the switch, done.. I now have four of these and zero isues.

Was looking forward to this device for use on a small tractor that can go unused for periods of time. Because of this I struggle with dead battery issues and routinely physically disconnect the battery as a preventative measure. This disconnect switch was intended to base a solution for that problem.

Upon install I found the terminal to be very tight, and my experience is terminals are made of lead, and easy to spread. With this one, I found the terminals very hard to spread and in an effort to spread, half the terminal broke off and I could then see that the terminals are made of cast material and not flexible like a lead terminal is.

Also, the straight design and its 5 1/4” length limits options for its physical placement. It either overhangs the battery into open space, or you turn it for placement over the top of the battery case, both of which can cause your battery cable to be too short. If you have a smaller battery placement can be even more of a consideration.

The casing is made of average grade plastic material, I would think for under hood service the material would be better suited for this challenging environment, so I would be concerned about long term performance in a consistently hot environment.

I had expected to give this a better review, but have to be fair and honest too. In some applications where there is plenty of room and lower use like a boat, this could be acceptable.

Great 12v battery disconnect terminal. Good for long term parking of cars or trucks. Makes disconnecting the battery very easy

Works great and hubby is happy with the quality!

High capacity: Supports 250A continuous and up to 750A in starting.
Compatible: For negative terminals from 15.5mm to 17.5mm (not suitable for positive terminals).
Easy to install: Quick to use with standard SAE connectors.
Attention: Requires 5” of free space at the terminal — confirm the size of your clamp.
