I was due for a muffler replacement on my older 4cyl with a long tube header. This muffler has a nice bumble that’s louder than stock but not at all annoying when paired with the stock cat and an aftermarket resonator. I’m glad that I didn’t go with a turbo style muffler because this muffler is right at the sweet spot of tone and reasonable volume.
I appreciate that it was made in the USA and the price was right. I’d buy another one without hesitation.

Best mufflers for a “Muscle”car, I have a 66 mustang with an inline 6 and makes a noticeable difference for performance. If you want sound when you step on it but to quiets down when it’s idle, these are the ones for you.
Hush Thrush is by far the best you can get if you want the original muscle car rumble without the annoying loud drone at idle.

good sound but still loud unless you keep under 3k rpm. anything above that rpm people think you are racing.
it is 85 db idle 900 rpm engine hot
and 95 db 1500 rpm engine cold start
on a stock 1991 celica

Was easy to install, no special tools needed. Nice mild tone that sounds good. Will definitely buy again when needed.

Great muffler! I’ve had this installed for a few years now so it’s well broken in. It’s not as hush as I was expecting but I wouldn’t call it loud by any stretch unless you floor it. I don’t have a resonator or any other sound dampeners on my 85’ VW Cabriolet and I also have an exhaust header installed… it may be quieter on most cars. I love the sounds and rumble from this muffler, very clean, not raspy, not a lot of drone unless the rpms are very high. Highly recommended and I would buy again!

I’ve had several Thrush mufflers, gradually getting quieter ones each time, thanks.

I know the title of the post sounds ridiculous. But this muffler solved a big headache I’d been having, literally.
After a couple no these of driving around with no muffler and getting “raced” by every car that heard mine and suffering from hearing issues, I’d decided enough, was enough! I just wanted anything that would quiet down the noise and deter anymore unwanted attention!
I’m happy to share I found a solution that didn’t break the bank, quieted down my ride and still allowed me to enjoy a very modest, mellow performance tone.
If that’s what you’re looking to accomplish, look no more! This met and exceeded my needs!
I’m so thankful. I can hear my thoughts again!!!

EDIT: It’s now 4 years later and no problems whatsoever with this muffler. Have been driving the car quite a bit in that time and racked up a ton of miles. No noticeable change in noise, although it would have been very gradual and hard to measure anyway. Have not crawled under the car to check for rust or holes, but I don’t hear any leaks.
I installed this muffler on a 2000 Mercury Sable with 3.0 V6 as an experiment to see if it would actually improve fuel mileage. I was surprised to see that it has added 1-2 MPG (primarily hwy driven) since installation. This was a reliable result as the car is driven the same route to work every day with little variation. The muffler has very little audible noise. It is noticeable if you know what you are listening for, but no one would ever guess it has an aftermarket muffler. This is a typical cheap muffler that I do not expect to last too long. Expect to replace it after a few years, but it’s cheap enough and does improve mileage so I say it’s worth it. I would have sacrificed a little more noise for more mileage, but I cannot say any other muffler would have done better.
