The round fitting was made to large and we had to use the old one other than that it’s fine

I got 2 cables and both were faulty

It did not work, the cable end that goes into the shift mechanism is too long and fater around.
The plastic end that goes on the shift bracket on the engine has a hole all the way through where the cable goes and no sure place to tighten it down. A mercury cable does not have a hole all the way through and you push the cable in where it stops and tighten it down. Not Rop, A lot or work to go through not to have the cable not work. I ordered a mercruiser cable and it worked fine as it should.
This Rop Cable is a waste of time and money, I could of sent it back but I got pissed and threw it in the trash. Not worth anymore of my time, it already wasted enough time me taking everything back apart to install OEM Mercruiser cable. Damn!

I ordered this cable to replace an existing cable on my Bravo 3 outdrive. It was relatively inexpensive and arrived quickly and I went to work and threaded the new cable in and went to attach to the shift mechanism on the top of my engine where the cable from the helm sends the commands to this cable. The brass barrel bolt that is supposed to slip into the receptacle wouldn’t fit. I clean out the pocket with a wire brush and tried again. Still too large. I measured it and it was a full 0.011″ larger than the existing cable. I swapped barrels to the original (threads were compatible) and went to complete connection at the drive. The “knob end” of the cable that fits into the drive wouldn’t go. I measured the OD. (Its more octagon than round but that’s ok and it was slightly smaller than the original so….ok.) I got the “jaws” in the drive to engage with some difficulty and finished mounting the drive. JAMMED…the new cable wouldn’t move. Removed the drive again and then checked the “knob end” of the new cable. IT WAS FULLY 0.100″ TOO LONG and had jammed the lever inside its housing. Had to grind the extra material off to fit. Now, the cable is fine but be prepared to do some work to make this cable fit.

Worst cable I ever used barrel at end of the cable won’t lock into the shift mechanism The stainless steel tube the threads into the cable was not properly threaded brass threaded part at end of cable that goes through helmet was too long and doesn’t give the cable enough throw to put drive into reverse would definitely not recommend anyone using them or buying them

The little knob at the end were longer and in different shape, the latch won’t lock. Quality seems good, but no use since it doesn’t fit. Wasted a few hours running to the store to buy original part at retail cost. Return process was easy, hence the additional star.

Don’t buy, had to take out drive off cause it didn’t fit.
