Been using this stuff for over a decade after initially buying it at a state fair. It works well, dries quickly, and gives you nice conditioning. Not a substitute for a good shoe polishing, but works great on leather jackets and softer leathers like lambskin. It is milky white in the jar, but goes on clear. Doesnt really “shine” your shoes, but really conditions the leather nicely and makes it look rich and supple. A little goes a long way, so a jar can last a while.

I have used Tenderly on all my leather goods for a number of years. It’s the only product I really trust. I discovered this product after a motorcycle class that took place for 8 hours in the pouring rain. I thought that my leather jacket would be history since after it dried out, it was no longer soft…it was a hard mass of uncomfortable leather. I purchased the Tenderly and applied a mild amount after using a light water wash to open the pores. The jacket came back to life and took on the softness that once was. The jacket became the color black I remember it as well. Although there is a slight shine to the jacket.
This product is a staple, I always have it around the house for anything leather. Leather needs to be conditioned (like your skin) but there are some people who don’t like to take care of their leather. Everyone is different but I like to keep my leather in tip top shape.
Here is my method for applying Tenderly:
You will need:
1. a bowl of water
2. a few soft paper towels
3. a soft cloth
4. Tenderly Leather softener
1. Apply a very thin amount of water on a paper towel and wash down the item. (only water, no soap) This will open up the pores of the leather.
2.Using the applicater that comes with the product, lightly dip it in to the jar. You should have a light amount on the sponge like applicator.
3. Apply the product directly to the leather item. You might have to use more depending on the condition of your item.
4. With the soft cloth – wipe off any access. Don’t let the access product stay on the leather.
5. Use the soft cloth to polish the leather, polish until you run your hand over the section and it’s soft to the touch.
6. Continue this until your entire item is complete.
7. The more detailed you are as you use the product in each section, the better your results will be.
This is the exact method I have used on all of my leather items. It works every time and I have never had any issues.

I have been looking for years for some sort of substance that would actually soften leather covers on bibles. .I have tried leather waxes.. oils… and pastes… and creams…. so I thought I would try This item… I have Mostly been using some sort of paste.. that I leave sit… and then rub off after a short while… I thought this would be better… alas…after applying…and later rubbing off.. no improvement was felt to the leather… AND on top of that… some of the coloring.. wiped away.. onto the cloth… not enough to change the color of the cover… but enough to scare me from ever trying to use this product again.. on a book cover…
maybe it s ok.. for shoes and coats.. and things exposed to foul weather…. but my bibles are my babies… I would not trust using this product with any of them ever.. again..

This is a wonderful product BUT it was delivered very poorly. All the product had leaked out of the containers, it was a complete mess when it arrived. Out of 2 tubs I was lucky to recover 1/4. I would have liked it to be replaced but I was only offered a refund of one of the tubs.

I really like this stuff because, it makes dried out leather jackets feel like Napa, glove leather. I’m not sure how it works but just a small amount seems to make older leather jackets increase in weight like when they were new. Strange but good. When I have used this in the past, the results are long lasting. I treated an old dried out leather coat 5 years ago with this stuff. After all that time, it still feels like when it was new. Good Stuff.

I have a St Croix (made by Remy) leather coat. The finish was always fading away. The surface of the leather looked like it was dried out. Visually it was splotchy, and did not reflect the quality of coat that the HIGH price would reflect. St Croix did everything they could to make it right, and sent it back to Remy where they “treated it”. This process took over 6 weeks. Got it back, and within weeks, the problem was back. St Croix assured me that Remy said there was nothing else that could be done. The leather is lambskin, very thin, and feels very luxurious. I was very concerned about using a standard leather product on it. I saw this product and the reviews and thought I would try it. It solved the dry, splotchy look. It did seem to slightly change the texture of the leather so it isn’t as flexible as it was originally. but I haven’t worn it much yet. I now can feel good about wearing a coat that looks good.

The conditioner is some what as I expected to be.. Based on my reading of the posts. I jus wasn’t happy at all the work I put into conditioning my seats.. You might not have the problems I did… But it sure wasn’t able to get the same results as the company did…
