I just installed this on my 2010 Toyota Sienna. It was so easy (took maybe 20 minutes once I found the right tools – a 10mm socket and a screwdriver) and the previously mentioned errors in the directions have been fixed. I would recommend watching a youtube video before doing it, just to get the idea of how this works. Some of the videos available show a wire that has to be threaded to the front of the vehicle to attach to a power source. This kit DOES NOT need that step. It is all self-contained in the back of the mini-van and no splicing or wiring is needed. Simply disconnect the existing plastic connectors and re-attach the new connectors to the old ones. It’s literally as easy as plugging in an outlet once you have the panels removed. I have NO automotive or electrical experience. Lights worked on the camper the first time I tried them! I can’t speak to the longevity/durability of the product as I just installed them, but the product itself seemed very durable while installing.

Worked perfect on my 2005 Sienna. Definitely a plug and play. The only cutting involved was when I cut the rubber plug to route the trailer wire out the drain plug under the carpet. Pick up some Marine/Auto RTV to seal up the slice in the plug and keep road spray out..
Definitely watch the video a couple times to prep yourself. It gives great detailed instructions.
When removing tail light assemblies, pull/push them outward from the car body, i.e. left or right (not rearward) to pull the mounting stud from the mating socket on the body. Wiggle as you pull/push.
As mentioned by others, the written directions are wrong.
The control module WILL be mounted on the passenger (right) side in the jack compartment.
From there the short harness will got to passenger tail light assembly and the long harness will go to driver’s side. With control module on passenger side you really can’t mess it up. I could not find any markings or labels indicating left(driver) or right (passenger).
When plugging the connectors into the tail light assembly, always listen for the “click” to know that you fully seated the connector.
Also, pick up a Attwood Trailer Light Inline Circuit Tester to test out your install.

    Worked perfect, would recommend.

Installed on a 2009 Sienna XLE.

First, let me say this product is a great little package. No splicing of wires – unhook the existing tail light wires and plug them into the harness on this unit and you’re good to go.

Now, onto the instructions. There were a couple of instructions that contradicted themselves. Let me save you a little trouble….First, look on the wires themselves – the green wire and the yellow wires will say either Left or Right on them. Right is passenger side lights and left is the driver side lights. Just route the wires accordingly using that information. Next, in the instructions it says to mount the main module on the driver side – that’s physically impossible because the short set of wires is on the passenger side of the vehicle! So, just mount the box over in the passenger area somewhere and you’ll be fine.

Long story short, I installed it properly the first time, then when I got to the part about mounting the module on the driver side, I figured I must have done it wrong because there was no way it would reach! So I wired it incorrectly, only to look at the wires and see that I had it right the first time!

Lastly, it didn’t say this in the instructions, but in the case of my van, if you peel back the carpet just a bit (closest to the liftgate), you’ll find a little rubber plug -> that’s what you pop out a bit to run the plug out of the van. Then, put the plug back in and seal it around the wire.

After I got all that worked out, after I hooked it up to the U-Haul trailer we rented, all was perfect. Great little product – if only the instructions were a bit clearer!

I like the product after doing my research on Tekonsha T-1 connect, it was easy to install by the instructions, works excellent.

Installed this on my 2008 Toyota Sienna – and it was fast and easy. Using some YouTube videos, I was able to install this quite quickly — all the connectors were a perfect fit for what is already in the vehicle — this, along with the Curt trailer hitch receiver, was everything I needed in order to be able to get the minivan trailer-ready! It took me about 45 minutes, and I was taking my time and going slow to make double-sure I understood everything, and it was a cinch — instructions are clear, and the connectors are in the perfect place, ample room to re-position things around existing wiring, and put the trailer-end connector exactly where you need it. Hard to imagine how they could have made things any easier!

fits perfectly for the Toyota Sienna 2005, never thought i would find this on Amazon, the video is avalable on Youtube to help you install it. I’m very happy.

I installed tow hitch reciever on my 06 Sienna and I decided to include this wiring harness just in case I need to pull a trailer for my sport bike. This item is very nice and perfectly fit to my car, easy to install with no splicing needed, just plug and play so you won’t mesh up any wiring connection. I was also able to bring the wires all the way to the bottom with the existing holes on the floor (with rubber closure), so I would not need to open the tailgate just to pull and bring back the wires. I just need to cut about halh inch in the center of the rubber closure to make way for the wire and connector tip, then put a silicon to seal it back. Then, walla…clean and no wiring exposed and it took me only about 20 minutes to install. Very nice product and everything is working fine. Thanks Amazon for delivering it 2 days ahead as scheduled.
