This product did not work for me, but did eat some of my clear coat, garage floor and leave a white crust on my headers. This is basically battery acid in a spray bottle. Be very careful how and where you use this. I have used rust converter in the past and this is not the same! Even though it says corrosive on the front I believe the warning should be a little more in depth on what might be easily damaged by using it. “USER BEWARE” I would not recommend this product.

slightly longer wait than expected, but all correct thank you

The product worked great, much nicer to use and clean up than other rust converters I’ve tried. Only big problem is that the spray top provided with the bottle leaks where it is screwed onto the bottle. I bought different spray bottles on ebay and emptied the rust converter into them. Don’t forget to save the label with directions, etc.

Ive used this to remove rust and repaint a motorcycle trailer, A boat trailer, Outboard motor brackets, Home diving board brackets (aluminum), BBQ Base, wrought Iron outdoor art AND MORE. SPray it on and use a wire brush to scrub the rusty area!!!! It has worked excellent on all occasions at removing the rust and converting it into a white (more solid) medium to be painted. You can hear the stuff working / bubbling on the rust, most of which falls to the ground in a white residue. Let the product dry for more than the recommended 2 hours then repaint and you will be impressed.

I used it mainly on rust around the rear wheel wells on my pickup. I sanded as well as I could and sprayed them. I then put Rust-oleum red oxide primer on. I covered the area with plastic wheel lips. Has been two Michigan winters and there is no additional rust.

Thus stuff is effective at reducing rust, but it’s not as powerful as I expected. The instructions suggest using sandpaper first, but if I’m going to risk winding up with a scratched-up surface in the end, why do I need this stuff?? It does dissolve light surface rust though, and maybe my expectations were too high. I’ve seen rust removers in the past that when applied to outdoor, heavily rusted metal, they only left behind bright, bare iron or steel, and only clean pits where the rust was … this stuff Ain’t that, but it’s better than not having any at all. Rating somewhere between 3- and 4 Stars.
