I replaced my old gas cap which did not lock; neither did the cover! With bad gas prices, I needed the security. It would be nice if it had a tether. It does not. It comes with 2 keys, yay!

When in the locked position, the cap will spin freely without being able to take it off. I thought it was broken until I found out that the unlocked position makes it stiff to the turn and by turning counter clockwise, it comes out. It’s quite genius. I am grateful for the safety of this device.

The ad states this is for an (over priced) Stant branded gas cap, but what you actually get is the off brand “MotoRad” from the middle-east with a “compatible” product number that sells for half of this one. What a rip off. Immediately filed for a return.
Update: After researching I found out that Stant has been “aquired” by MotoRad. I don’t know what that means for their quality, but the cap I received did not look like this gas cap or any other Stant branded caps I’ve purchased in the past. As a result it appears that you’ll take a chance in buying this. The issue, is that Amazon is selling a MotoRad gas cap for double the cost they sell for everywhere else. Even the gas caps that are still branded as Stant at brick and mortar shops are selling this model 10504 for under $15.00.
