Works perfectly and locked in place and did what it was supposed to do…you must have key in cap…then twist cap on til you hear and feel a couple Clicks….then remove key from cap …it should spin freely and clicking and stay in place

Used 2 of these on my 96 OBS Ford F-350 because someone decided to steal my fuel. I’m really hoping they put it in their gasoline vehicle, lol.

Works smoothly and fits my Chevy 3500HD! Can’t say that about others I’ve tried that were sloppy fitting. The lead to secure the cap when off feels like cheap plastic so I hope it lasts.
Cap does spin freely inside it without hanging up, so that’s a plus! Clip the ring off the end leaving the tabs, then feed it through the little whole inside the filler compartment.
Lock works smoothly and comes with 2 keys. Clicking when cap is tightened is solid. No play when unlocked to unscrew. Gas was .35/gal and diesel was about .38/gal when I started driving. Then the price wars started.
Who would’ve thought it would inflate 10 times that to what it is now! Sadly it’s come to locking fuel tanks to keep thieves away from the liquid gold!

I recently purchased the Stant 17591D Keyed Alike Locking Fuel/Gas Cap for my vehicle, and it has proven to be a reliable and secure addition. Here’s a detailed review of my experience with this product:
Design and Build Quality
The design of the Stant 17591D is both practical and robust. It fits perfectly on my fuel tank, and the medium size is suitable for a wide range of vehicles. The cap is made from high-quality materials that feel durable and capable of withstanding regular use and various weather conditions. The locking mechanism is sturdy and provides a strong sense of security.
Security and Protection
The primary reason for purchasing this fuel cap was to enhance the security of my vehicle’s fuel system, and the Stant 17591D delivers exceptionally well in this regard. The keyed alike feature means I only need one key for multiple caps, which is convenient for managing different vehicles or equipment. The lock provides peace of mind, knowing that unauthorized access to my fuel tank is effectively prevented.
Ease of Use
Using the Stant 17591D is straightforward. The cap installs easily, and the locking and unlocking process is smooth. The keys fit perfectly and turn without any resistance. The cap provides a tight seal, ensuring no fuel leaks or evaporation, which is crucial for both safety and fuel efficiency.
Performance and Durability
The performance of the Stant 17591D has been excellent. Since installing it, I haven’t experienced any issues with fuel leakage or difficulties in accessing the fuel tank. The cap has remained securely in place, even during rough drives and extreme weather conditions. Its durability is evident, as it shows no signs of wear or damage after several months of use.
Value for Money
Considering the security, durability, and convenience it offers, the Stant 17591D is reasonably priced and provides great value for money. The added security of a locking fuel cap is well worth the investment, especially in areas where fuel theft is a concern.
Conclusion
Overall, I am very satisfied with the Stant 17591D Keyed Alike Locking Fuel/Gas Cap. It combines excellent security features, durable construction, and ease of use into one reliable product. If you are looking for a secure and effective way to protect your vehicle’s fuel system, I highly recommend the Stant 17591D. It provides peace of mind and enhances the overall safety and efficiency of your vehicle.

Works just like it should. The only thing to remember is to lock it after you put it back on. It doesn’t automatically lock by turning it 3 clicks to the right. You have to turn the key to lock it. Easy enough to do once you know this.

I ordered two of these fuel caps for our Class A Tiffin Allegro RED motorhome that has dual fuel fill ports. I needed locking gas caps mainly to keep unsavory characters from spiking our fuel tank because we use the RV part time and it’s in storage a decent amount. A bad tank of diesel will ruin the motor which would probably result in a $10,000+ repair. This is cheap insurance. So far it seems to be sealing well and it fits under the fuel fill doors just fine. I only knocked off one star because you can order multiple sets of these caps and they are all keyed alike; there may be a chance that someone can order one of these caps and have the matching key to someone else’s cap. I don’t know how often the key codes/cuts are rotated nor how many cuts they choose from.

Nice to be able to buy the caps keyed alike.

This thing failed after two years and I had to break into my own fuel system when I almost ran out of diesel. Totally cheap, not built to last.
I know it’s not going to keep the thieves out. My objective was to keep the soy boy enviro nuts from putting contaminants in my fuel and since they can’t tell a hammer from a screw driver it did the job. Worked well for some time. I’ll buy a different product to replace it, but I will say it was effective until it kept me out…. For that you get a FAIL!
