I purchased the Tru-Tech sensor for my 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis after the check engine light code indicated a problem with the EGR system. Most blogs on the internet seemed to point to the EGR pressure feedback sensor as the most likely culprit in this situation. The installation on the Grand Marquis is a little challenging because of the location at the rear of the motor, but the car runs fine and the check engine light has not come back on. From my experience, I see no reason to spend more on the same part from Motorcraft.

Un excelente producto y el ECU la detecto de manera inmediata

I got this in late April and installed it on my 2004 ford expedition the next day. It’s been working well and was a very easy install. Took less than 5 minutes. The only negative would be the lack of warranty info and trying to reach customer service.

    worked as it should

This little vacuum regulating sensor can wreak havoc w/ idle quality (and trip a check engine light!) if not functioning properly. Only reason for four out of five stars: this part is replacing an all-metal OEM part…sometimes there’s an issue w/ plastic becoming brittle after repeatedly being heated/cooled in a location like the hot upper intake manifold…hose attachment points break when this happens, but are hard to see as they remain stuck in the hose. Not an issue w/ an aluminum part…Part also has reinforced metal grommets at mounting points…Part is performing well so far, NO check engine light

Installed on a 2003 Ford Windstar, went on perfect, and after about 25 miles it’s working as it should. If it fails in the future I’ll update the review. Saved $40 from buying Motorcraft which I usually go with faithfully on Fords but, Standard tends to make quality electronic parts in my past experiences. Mechanics WARNING tho DO NOT GO ANY CHEAPER than this. If you do, it’s a coin flip on if it will work. Never cheap out on your car!

I bought this hoping to clear some engine codes like other reviewers. It seems to have gotten rid of most of them. Now, there’s still one left that looks like it wants me to replace an oxygen sensor. But that’s not this part’s fault. 🙂

I know I shouldn’t just throw parts at the problem, but the installation was easy and the part wasn’t too much money. Most mechanics end up doing the same thing and then charge me for labor and double the price of the part.

I was hoping to cure the stutter that some Foci get after awhile. I had already changed the EGR valve after getting a “check engine” light. When it came back on after an overnight reset I checked all the Focus chat boards online. The culprit turns out to be the sensor. I was excited to do what should be any easy install with this part. While it looks exactly like the original stock sensor, the part where you plug the piggy tail on is not an exact fit. This one is too large and forcing it just cracked my original. I also checked all my local auto parts places and all the ones they have are the same. Come to find out that Ford changed the fitting on the sensor piggyback so you will also have to buy that part and rewire it in.
