I bought these for our 2003 Mazda MPV with the 3.0L Ford engine. They were an exact fit and functioned perfectly. No more misfire and Check Engine Light! I also replace the spark plugs (AS YOU SHOULD WHEN REPLACING A COIL) and hope to get a long service life from these. I can’t speak to the life expectancy of these coils, but I installed them in September 2015 and if I haven’t changed this review then they are still running!!

Great price and are working great so far. I got six of these for a Mazda 6 because the #5 cylinder in the front was going out. I replaced the 3 in the front and will replace the 3 in the back this summer. Remember to pick up the Fel-Pro – Plenum Gasket Set Part # MS96252 Oreilly when changing out the back 3 coils.There are good videos online that show how this is done. Picked up a set of NGK # 7397 Iridium Spark Plug TR5IX here also. The car already runs as good as it did when I first got it with 5,000 miles on it. If you do not see a update on this review that means they are still working. If anything goes wrong I will update my review.

These coils worked fine until the piece going to the bolt broke and the coil popped out of the cylinder. Fortunately I was close to home and not on the highway in another state. Given the low price I should have expected something like this, but I didn’t think it would happen so fast. The part broke only 5 months after I replaced all 6 coils.

I purchased three of these for my Mazda 6s with a V6 and placed them at the rear cylinders….the hard to reach cylinders that are only accessible by removing the Intake housing. I was very disappointed to have one of them start showing signs that it was going to go bad within a week. Sure enough, after having the car hooked up to a scanner number 3 cylinder showed signs that it already had multiple misfires. Luckily I had won a Prestolite coil from Ebay for .99 cents and $3.00 dollar shipping to be used as a backup. Lucky me. I swapped the Standard out with the Prestolite coil and the car has been running fine since. There are still two coils that are working properly so the jury is not completely out yet….but maybe you should do yourself a favor and consider buying a better coil for the hard to reach ones when you do your install. Don’t believe all of the reviews on how great the cheaper coils are unless they come with a mechanic backed guarantee that they’ll send a mechanic out and swap it for free.

Replacement for Mazda MPV ignition coils in my minivan. Much MUCH less expensive than OEM parts and allowed me to get my misfiring van back on the road and running better than ever. If you attempt to do this yourself and save the $800 the dealer wants to charge (and have a Mazda), do some serious Internet searching on the MPV forums and find the photo-guide tutorial. Not a super tough job and only takes about three wrenches and a screwdriver, but getting to the rear coils is a bear and there are wire harnesses, sensors and vacuum hoses you wouldn’t know about without the tutorial. Once I got the intake plenum off, these coils bolted right in without trouble (go ahead and change spark plugs while you are in there because you won’t want to do this job again). Minivan is running like a dream again.

04′ Mazda6 wagon v6 owner. Read about how many of these fail and give the engine a misfire code. Luck was on my hand and mine was only on the 5th cylinder. Easy 1 min job of just a 8 mm socket and a plug to take of and on. Worked flawlessly. No more misfire and runs smooth. I’m the 4th owner of the car and 215k miles on it. So I assume they replaced all of coils with cheap ones. Waiting to see if more fails. If more do fail then I will buy more of these USA made one. Many reviews of the cheap 50$ sets go bad after a year. If you are a mechanic or a smart person then you wouldn’t buy those just so you will waste another 50$ next year. Get quality and you don’t need to do it again.

So far so good, but time will tell. Forget about those 6 for $60 coil packs especially if you have a bank of cylinders buried under an intake manifold. It takes hours to change those for the DIY’ers, do you want to do it again in a year? Based on my research this USA made brand is a steal for $15, maybe it is a special temporary price?
Those with a Mazda 6, 3.0 V6, I had a problem with the engine surging while at stops, and a bit of bucking when I was accelerating and got to about 40 mph. It usually was worst when it was warmer outside and running the A/C. I thought it was a Tranny or vacuum problem, but I could never narrow it down as it never threw a CEL (check engine light) for many months that this was going on. Then out of the blue (Maybe because I was doing the rare hard acceleration, which did feel a bit rough, engine wise) I got a CEL 2x in a week which my code reader came up with Cylinder 6 misfire. Very luck as this in a cylinder up front and easy to replace.
Well I changed the Coil Pack and plug on that cylinder and it is a new car (so far) It’s been cool in So Cal, but even with the A/C running on 77 degree days, the surge/bucking are gone, and hard acceleration is smooth as Butter!
