Pleased with this purchase, many thanks.

Bought this for my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee All Wheel Drive (Vin J). Modeled after factory perfect fit for the u-joint from rear driveline to differential. I did spend the few extra $ for the grease fitting. Amazon was about $10 cheaper than my local parts store on the same u-joint. This new part solved, the unidentifiable hum and low grade grinding, along with the occasional clank….. Used my ball joint press to make easier work of removal and replacement. Would buy again and highly recommend the Spicer brand.

I purchased these u-joints to replace the ones on the driveshaft of my 2000 Jeep Wrangler. Although the fitment chart says they will not fit my application, I made accurate measurements and came to the conclusion that these u-joints were an exact match.
Per my measurements, I found the copper colored clips were the thinnest, and I used them to install my new joints.
These parts came in on time, were very affordable, and in good shape.
I have had a few of these joints, along with other Spicer joints and I feel they outperform some of the others I have tried from the typical auto parts store. These joints are cheaper, but yet more durable and reliable in my opinion. Ive never had a Spicer come in with a defect yet, the last duralast joint I bought was .040″ too big and caused me to cause damage to my equipment since I thought it was my equipment that was at fault.

Excelente calidad como se espera de Spicer, quedaron sin problemas en la flecha delantera de mi XJ Cherokee 1995.

Well, these u-joints sure removed all the slop in my 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara drive shaft, and they allow me to frequently grease them. They seem very well made…but what did you expect from Spicer other than good quality? The only downside to these u-joints is that the installation instructions are very limited. Specifically, you are provided ten different clips but no explanation as to which are to be used in which situation. With a micrometer, i did measure that the gold were thinner than the grey, which were thinner than the green. And the tenth seemingly “incomplete” clip is to allow room for the zerk fitting on the greasable side of the joint. Had these details been included in the instructions, I think i would have given it five stars for the quality I perceived. Time will tell the longevity of the product…

Also consider buying the Spicer (Precision Gear 2-70-18X U-Joint Strap Kit) with this, since proper maintenance requires replacements of the bolts/straps when the u-joints are replaced.

Not sure if they changed the packaging since some of the earlier reviews but mine came with the clips in bags and instructions on those bags. I bought the non greaseable lifetime U joint. It comes pre-loaded with grease in the precise amounts needed to be balanced on all 4 corners. Also it doesn’t have holes drilled in for grease nipples so its considered stronger than the greaseable kind. In any case you must not mix up the caps because you can end up moving grease around (hard to imagine that being a problem but I think it can result in seal damage) and you must not add any grease either for the same reason. The different colors for the clips are explained on the bags but they have different thicknesses. Copper colored are standard thickness, the thicker ones are there if you need to take up extra space to prevent the U-joint from having play, and the instructions also tell you to use those in pairs so the U joint is always perfectly centered in the yolk.
As far as fitment goes make sure to check your specific application. Older fords that you think use a 1310 U joint actually used a 1310BC – two of the bearing caps are 1310 size and the other two are 1330 size. So make sure youre very clear which size U joint you need and measure cap sizes if needed.
I did install with a hammer and impact sockets – but this can be a problem – especially with aluminum driveshafts because you can bend the ears and create binding in the U joint. You’re supposed to use a press either a bench top hydraulic press or the heavy duty C clamp style U joint tool.

Quit shooting grease all over your undercarriage and get these, they’re better anyway.

No issues. All found satisfactory, easy install.. A++
