Excellent price for this drop in filter. Quality appears to be as good as well known competitor for about 20% less money. I will definitely buy Spectre filters for any future automotive applications.

I’ve been using Spectre air filters in ALL of my vehicles for years. There is an IMMEDIATE increase in both performance in gas mileage in every car, truck or van. I find that the larger the engine, but bigger the difference (as would make sense). In our conversion van I think it paid for itself in the second tank – particularly if you TOW anything – huge difference there! I currently have them in my Cadillac DHS and my wife’s mustang and always will. I will also say that I used to use K&N filters, but switched to these to see if they were comparable and they absolutely are. I tested in my Cadillac and there was no change in gas mileage or performance from the K&N. I strongly recommend and tell everyone about them. It doesn’t matter what you drive – these are the filters to use. (along with premium plugs and good quality synthetic oil changed often….)

This reusable air filter installed quickly and fits properly in a 99 Cadillac Seville, can be washed/reused and offers a slight power increase and throttle response.
Noticed while driving after installing it, the famous Northstar GM computer had to adjust for a few minutes however once it did, the car seems much more responsive and unlike cone filters previously attempted, not getting a check engine light for the mass air sensor not liking things.
This filter works great for a 1999 Cadillac Seville despite the vehicle having a temperamental computer.

Same quality and half the price of the K&N drop-in filters I’ve purchased in the past. Breathes better than an OEM paper filter. Overall, it functions well. Does it automatically give you better HP or MPG? It has the potential to, but just swapping it out and saying “done” won’t do that, unless you’ve just been driving around with a dirty filter. You do get slightly more throttle response because of it letting the engine breathe better though. It fit inside the stock airbox perfectly with no modifications necessary. These are very good filters. I have a 4% boost in horsepower on a 10 year old car measured on a dyno. Buy these if only for the quality of how they seal and the amount of airflow it delivers.
I do think they are K&N Equivalents in quality. Pays for itself in 3 filter changes. I’m in dusty Northern Colorado. I wash, dry(overnight, No humidity here) then oil my filter every 10k.
Gadget –
I have a ’98 Grand Prix w/ supercharger that was idling roughly – triggering a “too lean” service engine code.
Seems like providing more air is the opposite of what the warning code implied, but this filter instantly solved the problem. Stronger idle, better acceleration, and no more warning light.
Physics probably demands that better airflow = less filtration, at least of the smallest particles. For the age of my engine, I’m not too worried and maybe the smallest particles are not damaging. Either way, I will switch to this type of filter on all of my cars.
