This thing has a thicker wire than the thing it’s extending. Works great, no issues, but it does pop out of the extension if you aren’t careful, just because of the cigarette lighter design, not much you can do to help that.

Given the fact that the NEED for this type of cord never even crossed my mind, it’s interesting to me that it turned out to be my only option for putting a temporary fix in place. That fix; making use of a cigarette lighter output at the rear of my little SUV to power a device needed on the front dashboard. The device involved can only be powered with its attached cigarette lighter adapter. Although a unique fix, what I needed to accomplish it of course was found on Amazon. In fact many options for this type of extension cord are available there. I’m very happy that I chose this one.
As it turned out this cord was the perfect length. Even at 12 ft, the weight is simple to handle. The 16 gauge wiring along with the required insulation gives it a very reliable appearance. The terminations at each end are put together with welcome precision. The connector that accompanies my device fit nice and snug on the ‘female’ end. Of most importance, my little device performs with no signs of output loss. Now it’s only a matter of finding a use for this cord once the needed electrical repairs on my vehicle are completed.
