If you have ever had a set of alligator clamp type terminal attachments shift in the close quarters under the ATV seat and short the positive battery terminal to ground while operating an ATV mounted sprayer, you may understand what I mean. My stupid mistake cost upwards of $1000 to replace the fried wiring harness, coil, and voltage regulator on my Kodiak. I now bolt the ring terminal ends of these leads to the battery posts, run the wire outside of the vehicle, and hook my sprayer electrical to the plug end. This approach also makes it easy to hook up and unhook a trickle charger battery minder when the unit is stored. These are good, high quality heavy duty lead/extensions that let me leave the leads permanently installed on two different vehicles for maximum convenience.

My bass boat has two lithium batteries in series for 24V trolling motor. The batteries came with a charger specifically made for the 24V battery system. But the charger had alligator clips that needed to be clipped on to the battery connectors (difficult to get to every time I needed to charge the batteries). I cut one of these cables in two…wired one end to the charger leads and put spade lugs on the other end and connected them to the + and – of the batteries. Makes hooking up the charger a breeze.
