It was a little tight fitting the gear in the Governor, a few light taps and it seated fine. Ran a small drill bit through the Governor roll pin opening to drill through the plastic gear to install the roll pin. Drilled 1/2 from one side, 1/2 from other side, went through with no problem, just go slow and drill through plastic gear only, took 5 sec. This replaced my original chewed up Green gear perfectly and fit in the Trans nice and tight against the output shaft gear. Just put it in and let it turn to lock in place. When installing the cover, use a small amount of RTV Sealant on the covers flange and tap in from the sides with a soft mallet.

Great little gear, and fits as expected. Turns out my issue wasn’t the gear itself, my governor was just stuck. Just needed a good cleaning. Changed the gear anyway since I was there. Only 4 stars because I had to drill a hole to put the pin through.

My old governor gear was broken on my 700 R4 transmission and it wouldn’t shift from first to second gear. The auto parts stores and the GM dealer could not help with the part as it now obsolete. I ordered online, the parts came well packaged, on time and without damage. Drilling the hole and installing the pin was straight forward. Now I’m back on the road, and would recommend.

First the gear wouldn’t fit in the governor so I filed it down to fit. Then when trying to install back in transmission it wouldn’t fit there either. I trashed this on and got one locally and it worked great.
