This stuff is awesome. It isn’t the cheapest wheel cleaner out there for sure, but it is well worth the money. I usually spray this on at the beginning of my car wash process and let it sit while I wash the rest of the car. By the time I’m done with the body, I just spray the wheels off and 99% of the brake dust and buildup just sprays away. I usually only have 1 or 2 weeks of dirt on there, but I never have to scrub it off like I’ve had to do with other products — I just spray using the jet setting on the hose and then wipe with a microfiber.
Buying the larger size is the way to go — just refill your own spray bottle.
Highly recommended!

This product is the best of all wheel cleaners I’ve tried.
It is safe for clear coated wheels also.
I had one clear coated aluminum wheel that was considered ruined from a rear brake pad that was grinding metal to metal on the rotor long enough to turn the entire wheel’s finish the color of blackened rust.
After several applications of Meguiare’s “Hot Rims – All Wheel & Tire” spray product had failed to save the rim (a pretty good cleaner) I eventually gave up and priced having the wheel re-finished.
Then I watched a few YouTube videos of Sonax full effect being used and took the chance that it might work for me.
Because it is safe on paint, I was able to lay paper rags on the damaged wheel surface, soak the entire wheel with Sonax and left it to do it’s work for over two hours while I replaced the rear rotors, calipers and brake pads, then I simply went back and easily wiped the softened rust away with those same Sonax soaked rags and rinsed with a garden hose.
Now the wheel is like new again.
The only negative aspect is that a 5 liter jug is not cheap, but it is so effective for even regular maintenance, that it actually saves money in the long run.

Well, It does remove a lot of the brake dust and road film, but if you are a perfectionist and want your wheels sparkling clean, just spraying this on and just rinsing it off will not work which I believe is the claim. I sprayed the Sonax on the inside of my wheels as well (Porsche wheels that are pretty wide open) and it did almost nothing to remove the dirt/dust. I have not tried it with a pressure washer yet, I hope that yields better results. The Sonax is also quite viscous, a consistency similar to cooking oil making it hard to spray with an atomizer resulting in a lot of waste which is bad because this stuff is expensive! There is no substitute for hand washing with a wheel brush and if your going to do that, a bottle of Simple Green or other such house hold cleaner works just as well. And at close to $100.00 for the jug I bought I feel a little taken, especially seeing that brake dust and dirt It easily comes off with a little hand rubbing.

This is the first wheel cleaner that does what it claims. I have used Sonax on painted, alloys, and other types of wheels and no negative results occurred. Light pressure from a flag tipped, soft bristled brush, and the grime is easily removed.
The price was a drawback for me, however the time it saves makes it worth it. The odor is pleasing, and not overpowering. It is obviously yellow, however upon contact, the color changes to different shades of purple, depending on the degree of contaminates on the wheel.
I bought a gallon jug of Sonax, and will buy another once I run out. It’s easy to use, and I really like the product.

This cleaner is no joke cleans like they said cleans the calibers even in tight spots this really works

Really like this product. Saves a ton of elbow grease and is a safe way to remove brake dust while not damaging your expensive rims. The larger size saves money, transfer to spray bottle with funnel. Beware though – I literally rinse the large container exterior each time I use it. Even when stored this stuff wreaks. Any part of your home or garage will have a funky sulfur type smell when stored. I’ve managed it by making sure the container is thoroughly cleaned – not even a little dribble on the side and placing it in a section of the garage that is most remote. It’s an awesome product for expensive rims and rims hard to reach. Literally spray, wait for the color to go from green to red, maybe brush a little when super dirty – then spray off. It’s important to not let it dry (per manufacturer) and I believe them. If you hate the dirt/dust/grime in the interior of your ‘deep profile rims’ but don’t want to spend hours or risk damage – this stuff is a miracle. But when I tell you that it stinks – I mean it stinks!

This stuff is fabulous. – keeps my Porsche wheels looking great – it’s so easy to use and does not damage the aluminum or finish – I am very picky with my car products and highly recommend this!

Actually works as advertised! Wish I took before and after pictures. This cleaned wheels that had 6 years of buildup. Over 95% clean with light brushing next time I’m going to remove the wheels to better brush the pitted areas. Stop wasting your money on all the other products on the market.
