The Nothing –
This tray isn’t supposed to be a “drop in and go” type thing. What it does is save you time and effort in building the tray, and allows for easy modification to suit your purpose. For use in my 4th Gen Toyota 4Runner I forged out a standoff to level things out and create a place to bolt on using an existing hole in the inner fender (its on the underside, not seen, and about 1 1/8″ tall, and runs a 1/2″ bolt), and welded on another piece of angle iron to the front for another bolt (as can be seen in photo). I’ll probably weld on studs to replace the bolts, at least on the rear. I’ll also be making a tray to hang off the front for easily mounting fuse/relay boxes
Cons:
-Included bolts are too short and will not engage the nylock nuts if you run the appropriate, included washers.
-Not sure the reason for the holes in the base. They can’t be used for bolts without damaging battery. Not big enough for weight loss. Perhaps for welding into place? maybe.
Pros:
-Cheap. Way cheap when you consider the cheapest i’ve seen for bolt on ready trays start around $200 for the 4Runner and only go up from there
-Clean. no scale made it easier when I had the parts ready to weld on
-It will certainly do the job
