It is so easy to just turn it’s know to store my summer truck without pulling the battery terminal or charging it’s battery every time I leave my summer only truck sit. Plus I can work on the truck without having to disconnect the battery every time to safely work under the hood.

    Great kill switch

I wanted this device to isolate the battery on my Classic American car, hence the need for a side post fitting. Bought another one, great product.

Its not a switch per se, its a mean to disconnect and connect on a device/battery that has no load.

    Take note of problem
    – as noted in other reviews the brass sides can plex, allowing it to touch the screw head. So needs to be careful to check carefully when unscrewing that its actually not touching. In my case a solution to the flex is to wrap zip ties on both ends so it wont flex.
    – also when disconnecting this is not a complete open circuit. When unscrewed I am registering Kilo Ohms of resistance so when you have a load I am not sure if electricity will spark because you will not take off the screw fast enough.

    Good point
    – compact, I dont have to add more cables. I just connected one side to battery and all other cables to the other side.
    – its made of metal and looks like it will last a long time.
    – its cheap.

Overall it serves my purpose of disconnecting an inverter (off) from battery. In cases where I need to work on circuitry and I don’t want a spark.

    works as expected

    Excellent service

Metal is weak and the threads were messed up within an hour of working. Do it right because if you don’t, the threads won’t hold up. I accidentally cross threaded one of the bolts. It didn’t even take that much.

I received today , I installed it on 1978 Harley FLH . You only get out of it that you put into a project . I had to modify a hole to 7/16 ” to through bolt because I mounted to frame and with vibrations on my Harley could strip out threaded hole. I soldered #4 . gauge copper welding lead to copper lugs with shrink wrap for a perfect connection. I also coated all connections with Marine grease to prevent corrosion. All in all the product should work as intended . It will give me a quick electric disconnect just incase a wire chafes and shorts out. Thanks for your product . Also had to relocate trickle charger wiring so it would work with battery disconnected . Have a great day , and fix it yourself be happy.

Well made works as designed. I installed it on my travel trailer. Only needed one gave the other one to a friend with same trailer and battery set up.

I use many of these type of battery disconnects in my fleet of vehicles. Some of these disconnects have been in place for many years and all have provided excellent service. This one is, however, not up to par. Poor quality becomes apparent quickly as individual parts separate (not just the knob/screw). Specifically, the “sandwich” of the two metal pieces with the plastic insulator in the middle separates when you turn the knob to break the circuit allowing the two metal pieces to touch one another thus reestablishing the circuit. So, the only way to reliably break the circuit is to remove the screw knob completely and separate the plates from each other which is, of course, an absurd “solution” to the problem. Further, even if one were to accept this significant product flaw, now that the parts are separated from one another, it becomes that more difficult to reinstall the screw knob especially given limited space around most batteries. Additionally, on a separate matter, I worry that electrical contact will be lost between hardware that attaches to the battery and battery itself due to poor design (bolt loosens too easily) — should this occur while running the engine, alternator damage will occur. I will now try to modify and fix various problems if I can not find a quality disconnect to replace this one. Very poor experience. Seems like another example of a Chinese-manufactured product done poorly.
