Used this to disconnect our lawnmower’s battery when we aren’t using it. Install was fine but the switch itself doesn’t really have very firm/hard detents for the on/off positions. Time will tell on durability. Does the job though.

I picked up this battery disconnect for a camper van electrical system build we’re doing. The disconnect will serve as the primary shut off for our 300 AH lithium battery system. I like that the terminal bolts are offset from the switch knobs which makes installation easier. The switch functioned well, but required two modifications to allow for mounting. The switch is meant to be surface mounted, but has no screw/bolt holes to allow for mounting. With that, I drilled a couple of holes through the unit through 2 of the 4 back plate mounting screw locations. The second problem with the design is that electrical connection side plates are nearly flush with the bottom of the switch. So when the lugs are connected and tightened the back of the bolts push past the back of the switch. This will either interfere with mounting the switch or will interface with tightening the lugs. I solved this issue by installing a few washers to take up the slack.

Not exactly what I was looking for with my truck but it does seem to be pretty durable. The terminals just won’t fit for what I need which is unfortunate but not a product defect. I’ll try to use on a different application, where it may be better suited. If it fits your terminals, I’d say it seems like a good deal!

I added this side post disconnect switch to my solar setup and it’s honestly been a solid move. I’ve got a couple of batteries running my system, and this little thing makes it super easy to cut power clean when I’m doing maintenance or want to shut things down overnight. It’s about five inches long, black plastic with copper connections, and the materials feel high quality—not some cheap knockoff. The knob was a bit stiff the first couple turns, but now it spins easy and locks in tight. No extra wires needed either, which I appreciated. For the price, it’s well worth it. Keeps the batteries protected and gives me peace of mind knowing I’m not draining anything when I don’t need to.

Ordered for my older Escalade that uses side post battery. Switch looks fine out of the box, but installation didn’t go as planned. The unit is large and the knob doesn’t have the clearance I need to quickly reach under the hood and switch off when the truck sits for extended periods.

It is a little flimsy but is still pretty good, I am hoping this saves my battery’s life as my hydraulic jack seems to pull from it constantly. Will update review after a few months of use.

Perfect disconnect for turning off/disconnecting my solar battery bank. I use ecoworthy LiFePO4 batteries and I wanted a way to have the leads ‘off’ when I connect them to my bus bar. This does the trick and also allows me to just turn the whole system off. Bolts on this are slightly larger but just used the bolts from the battery to tighten down. It works great and super handy.

Seems well built and will serve it’s purpose. The only negative I see is it’s a tad stiff to turn the knob. This could be seen as a Pro by some as it cannot be switched by accidently bumping into it. .
