It is large, about 3″ but that allowed it to stick past battery side
However, there isn’t any cover for the battery post you are connect to so that post is always exposed and live.

This was easy to install and is made of good quality materials. It helps save your battery, especially if you have cars you store for the winter. A simple turn of the knob, and it cuts power from the battery.
It was a great fit for my Corvette, and it cost very little compared to the savings.

This product provides a simple way for me to separate my vehicle’s battery from the “house” battery. The installation is pretty straight forward and simple, but you need to tailor it to your specific application. The switch is large so you may need to be creative with installation.

My biggest concern is the exposed ends. I highly recommend you put heat shrink over them to avoid the possibility of shorting to ground. As a direct link to your battery, this is a serious safety concern.

The switch functions well and the movement is smooth, I’m not sure on the build quality of the internals. It doesn’t give me the feel of a heavy duty switch, so time will tell how good the build quality is.

I got this side post disconnect switch for my main battery on my boat. In the compartment there isn’t enough room for one that mounts to a wall like my TM batteries. This seemed to be a good option since it would side right over the stud of the marine battery and bolt down. The overall build seems pretty solid but feels cheap. We will see how long it last. It’s really easy to turn off, just turn the knob. The height of this switch make cause issues in some vehicles. These switches are great for stopping parasitic drain on your battery. I turn mine off when I am charging/maintaining the batteries in between fishing trips and when stored.

We used this battery cut off on our tractor as a theft deterrent and to save the battery life on it. It was very easy to install this cut off switch to the terminals and the battery. The one negative thing I can say about this switch is that the green on sticker does not really reflect the on off position. That is not the biggest deal but I did want to note it. Other than that the switch does cut the battery off and reconnects, you just have to turn it an test if that is on or off.

My 99 Suburban has a battery draw that I haven’t figured out yet. After a long storage period, the battery is dead and I have to recharge it. I installed this to mitigate that issue when long term storing it. Easy to install and seems to work fine. Switch feels like it makes good contact when closing the circuit. Small enough design to fit in the tight area in front of the battery in my case. Would say the overall quality is good for the money. Recommend!!

Great heavy duty battery disconnect. I tested the switch (see attached photos) and it works. This is for my homemade 12V power systems I fabricate for remote amateur radio operation.

As others have noted, the exposed terminals must be managed, but that is always a given.

Impressed by the thick copper terminals and easy screw attachment.

It’s a well-built switch with a sturdy design, and the knob turns smoothly and is easy to grip and operate.
