Works really well. I noticed that my allison shifts better and is more firm. Well worth it. I didn’t have any problems before I installed this, it was just a precaution to save my transmission.

Makes a great difference in the way the truck shifts. No more “funny stuff” when accelerating. This kit is cheap and WORKS!!! If you have even average mechanical skills and pay attention to what you’re doing and aren’t the type who want’s to rush to get things done, this isn’t difficult to do. There are many videos on-line and you should watch them. You will need a nice “clean”work area. Best to drain the transmission fluid the day before (remove the pan) and let it drain overnight into a square oil drain pan, round ones won’t work well. It’s not messy IF you do this, otherwise you will be bathed in fluid! You also need a new pan seal (gasket) and filter. Follow the instructions on re-learning, very important!! It takes a while for the computer to re-learn how to shift properly after the install, but once it does, it’s great!!! All the older Duramax’s should have this done! The newer trucks basically already have this incorporated and don’t need it……. I wonder why Allison made the change? 🙂
