I used this chamois to soak up water from a toilet tank. I needed the tank dry to remove the fill line. This towel did a great job of soaking up the water and provided the dry tank needed. It is easy to use. If it gets dried out and hard, simply wet it again to get it back to being soft. It will soak up so much liquid. It isn’t warm enough to wash cars outside yet so I haven’t used it for that yet but assume it will do a great job when that opportunity presents itself. Definitely needs to be slightly wet when stored to maintain some flexibility. I had to tell my wife not to throw it away since it dried over the utility sink faucet and is hard and seems crusty! I am not sure where the original bag went but a standard zip seal back will suffice. I recommend this.

Great first use for drying the car. Once the towel dries it hardens. I was afraid to rub the hard towel against my car. Didn’t want to scratch the paint. It does soften again once wet but I feel that defeats the purpose of “drying” the car.

I’d say this is a mid-level drying cloth. I like it better than the towel types, but it’s not as absorbent as the synthetic, albeit more expensive, one I bought locally. Only one side has texture, the other side is completely flat. It still works well enough, just wring it when it starts to leave too much water behind and repeat.
It comes in a thick ziplock bag which is appreciated. Until recently, I didn’t know that you store these wet. This helps using it the next time and surprisingly, mold hasn’t grown. For the price it’s currently at, $4.99, it’s a pretty good deal in my opinion.

This cloth arrived flat and sealed in a resealable bag. It was wet so that it can be unfolded. Upon drying, it became hard as chamois should. The cloth is a synthetic and not leather like a traditional chamois. The seller stats that It is made of “wheat and PVA which is natural and environmentally friendly.” While wheat is obviously natural, please note that PVA is a man-made polymer and not natural.
In order to test the seller’s claims that it holds more than ten times its weight in water I attempted to weigh it dried and saturated using a small kitchen scale. The dry weight came in at one ounce. I noticed that the reported specs give the weight of this item as 8.1 oz. I suspect that weight is the shipping weight or as shipped, which is wet.
After wetting under the sink and letting it drain while fully opened until it stopped dripping, it weighed beyond the scale’s limit of 16 oz. Ten times its weight based on the dry weight that I measured would be ten ounces. Obviously, either my simple kitchen scale is off or I introduced too much water or it holds way more than ten times its weight. Clearly, not a very conclusive experiment but at least it shows that this cloth holds a significant amount of water and I am comfortable that it is more than ten times its weight.
The seller refers to a “new technology” having a 3D stereoscopic surface and a smooth side. The smooth side supposed to take care of cleaning and drying while there is no identified use for the 3D side. This makes no sense. Both sides look the same, which is ridged like in the pictures on the seller’s Amazon information page.
I am rating this with five stars because it is a functioning chamois cloth and is what you would expect in any chamois cloth. Even though there are some misleading statements by the seller (natural material, new technology) I do not think they matter to the performance of this product. Some may fell justified to deduct from the rating due to these misleading statements and no arguments from me. I just want to convey that there is nothing wrong with this product and those two statements are irrelevant to me.

This is a some simple cloth that has a couple layers, specifically a mesh layer on the inside of two other layers, and at a current price point of under $7 I would say it’s a decent deal.
The cloth is smooth and easy to work with on almost any smooth surface, so these do a great job rubbing over the surface of a car, but also tables, floors, and more. The cloth is quite absorbent, which makes it hold onto water well; it does in fact hold over 10 times its dry weight in water, and over that by my testing. It’s good at picking up water, soap suds, any kind of regular juice, and even oils. It’s shipped very slightly wet, in a water-tight bag, which is presumably the way you’re meant to store it.
As for the downsides, they’re pretty minor. This does only hold a bit under 2 cups of water, so it’s not going to revolutionize your life or dry out a whole bucket if you drop it in. Additionally, if this dries out, it will in fact get a bit hard, or more accurately ‘stiff’; once it gets wet it’ll soften back up though and it’s still perfectly fine to rub over your car even when it’s stiff. Additionally, there aren’t any instructions or advice included, so you’ll have to refer to the listing if you forget or don’t know something about it.
