Update – the other coils failed and left me stranded.
The car stalled out and wouldn’t restart. Towed it back home and it has 6 codes. 1 is random misfire and the other 5 codes are all other coils that I replaced (minus the one that failed a couple days ago).
Installed these last weekend on my 2012 Highlander with about 130k. The OEM coils were fine but I figured “while I’m in there…” when changing the plugs.
The car ran great for a week then i got code 0356 and a rough idle. Thank goodness a front coil failed and not a rear bank coil. If I had to remove the wipers, wiper motor, front cowl, intake plenum and everything else, I would be furious!
I’m glad I kept the OEM coils bc I swapped one out with cylinder 6 and no more code.
These are a lot cheaper than OEM parts, hopefully this failure was just a fluke.
